Can anybody give me a little advice please, today Magic has started grabbing Pearl by the scruff of her neck and trying to mount her, he has been neutered and she is only 3.5 months old, why is this happening and how can I stop it.

I've never had a male/female situation! Has Pearl been fixed yet? I don't know that this is not an uncommon problem -- but I'd definitely google and see what you can find out.

No she is too young too be spayed, I have Googled and apparently a neutered male can still produce testosterone so he is still able to mate but obviously she won't get pregnant, I was just wondering if anyone else had come across this.

It happened to my guys a few times - Noha grabbing Lily like this. That was 2 or 3 weeks ago, they're both 3.5 months old now and were already neutered. As far as I can tell it hasnt happened since, maybe just something their instinct tells them to do. Like when they're playing, they sometimes practice the "confrontational" pose - body a little sideways, hair raised etc... although there's nothing but love between them.

My two spayed females are about 21 months old and a couple of weeks ago one of them jumped right on the others back and bit her neck hard while they were fighting over the right to sit on one of the cat clouds. Then she flung her sister off the cloud.

No, not really. Many breeders actually offer to spay their kittens before releasing them to their new homes at 12 or 13 weeks old or so. My Neytiri was spayed, I think at like 14 or 15 weeks. You can of course choose to have it done later, but it's not uncommon to do it earlier.

As far as the neck thing goes... I think a neck (or more particularly throat) bite is a "kill bite" if the cat is seriously going for that. But the back of the neck is the "scruff" where mother cats use to pick up her kittens. It's kind of a spot where cats often associate with their mother's demand that they submit and go limp.

It always made me cringe how Serafina and Gaga would seemingly bite each other's necks while play fighting when they were young. They never penetrated skin though, thank goodness.

She isn't too young.
However this sounds like dominance behaviour, a lot of cats, male or female will do this to assert their dominance over another cat.

Babbage will sit on his sister some times and grab her by the throat ( very gently ) as a way of showing dominance. As they are very close, he generally gives her head a good clean first.

In the UK kittens are not neutered before leaving the breeder.

He grabs her scruff like a wild lion would do during mating, he gets on top of her doing all the gestures without actually mating, then he washes her.

She seems to actually enjoy it (the dirty little tart) haha.

Thanks for all the advice.

Females can go into heat as early as 4 months! I can't believe they won't spay then any earlier! It's so much easier on the kitty. I agree that it's a dominance deal more than a sexual deal. Can't wait until Pearl catches up to Magic in the size department. Or she decides to smack him a good one. LOL

She did smack him around the face the other day, she was showing off in front of him, lying on her back with her legs wide open, naturally he came along for a sniff, she took offence and clumped him around the ear, poor Magic.

Oh yes I am, she is an absolute nutter.

I think everyone is right it does seem to be a dominance thing with Magic pinning her down, but she doesn't seem to mind.

He does like to wash her as well which is nice.

Well, you know that if Pearl isn't liking any of this, she would definitely let Magic know! GIRL POWER!!!
