Hi

One of the things the behaviourist told me to do with my two was 'keep them busy'. Proving easier said than done as they have the attention span of a goldfish and get bored of their various toys pretty quickly. I am rotating them but even so I wondered if any of you had any tips as to how you keep your little troublemakers busy?!

One thing they haven't tired of yet is the ball track. That is sought out by Hendrix every morning!

How do you keep a bengal busy? You're right, Clare. They have the attention span of a two-year-old. You can play with your two 24/7. But you have two of them and they should occupy themselves. They make things these days that keep toddlers busy all the time -- don't they have that for cats? I think you are out of luck unless you are actually keeping them busy yourself.

One idea the behaviourist said to me was to put big feather dusters on elastic and attach to door frames etc! Then the cat is meant to drag the duster (prey) back and hey presto it runs away when the elastic retracts - and chase game on! Oscar just looked at the duster as if I was mad! My girls had great fun racing round the house with it trying to get Oscar to chase it! I guess you just need to buy or make toys that your particular boys like playing with! Debbie also recommended putting tuna oil on the duster to attract the kitties - I have to say I draw the line at having my house smelling of tuna - Sorry Debbie and Oscar!

Raiden has a ball attached to elastic on his cat tree and he never plays with it unless I put it up on one of the platforms. I've decided the only way I can keep Raiden quiet is when we are out walking. He's too busy smelling everything to cry.

Hi,

I'm definitely not an expert but my two babies pretty much keep themselves busy at all times. They're not even so much into toys, prefer chasing and jumping onto each other. The configuration of the house also helps - they have a lot of chairs and similar stuff to jump on or from, so its usually floor-table-armchair-hifi speaker-stairs-floor jumping sequences, each time faster. Sometimes they're actually surprised with my presence when I'm caught in the middle of the madness

It's easier when you have two cats to amuse each other.

Mine really like the Catit brand interactive toys. They are always a hit!

My boy George has the strangest taste in what he likes to play with. Toilet paper tubes are his number one favourite and my room is littered with them. I found in the past though that elastic bands were really effective play toys too. Just shoot one off your finger to the other side of the room/ down stairs etc and he'd have played fetch forever if I had the energy to.

Blondie grabs my little plastic hair clips and flies across the room with them. I try to hide them from her, but she locates them every time. I think she likes the noise it makes on the tile floor.

Since I've got Pearl I find I don't need to do much in the way of entertaining now, her and Magic chase each other round and play so much that they are exhausted, don't know why I didn't do it sooner, they do have lots of toys as well, a favourite is Cat it senses play circuit and cheese chase 3 in 1 toy.
