I know we all live in different parts of the country and some might not be affected by the blizzard at all, but I thought it would be cool if we could all post status updates through the weekend. It might be cool to see where/when snow starts, photos of you and your Bengal out in the snow (if they're adventurous), or posts about how good the home made apple cider is.

And for anybody who doesn't really watch the weather channel, we're expecting about 2 feet of snow over the next 2 -3 days.

I live in Utah where 2 feet of snow in a single afternoon is not unusual so 2 feet over 2 or 3 days seems pretty manageable.
I imagine your snow will be wetter, icier, heavier than ours and you may not be equipped to handle it in terms of road maintenance machinery. Is this the case?

I we get 2 inches of snow in the uk we grind to a halt!!! We are rubbish with snow as it is a rare event down south for us. About five years ago we got 14 inches of snow in one day; it was amazing. I went out into our paddock at about midnight to just watch it fall. It was so beautiful and silent. Our old cat Harry a black moggy came too! He followed me everywhere and turned into kangaroo cat in the snow - it was hilarious! Good luck with your blizzards but I guess it's nothing that you can't handle across the pond!

It is snowing in Nashville, TN right now! They were calling for 4". That's a lot for us! It snowed the other day as well, but barely covered the ground. Raiden was not happy about walking in the white stuff. He doesn't like it. Doubt I will take him outside today. He normally is howling for his walk, but he's sleeping and appears to be content. We'll see how it goes later in the day. Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

We have equipment for the snow but not like this. I heard a news report that they're expecting so much snowfall that the crews might not be able to keep up with it. They're predicting 1-3 inches an hour in some spots and up to THREE feet in isolated areas. That's pretty much unheard of here. Record snowfalls in 1996 and the winter of 2009 (snowmaggedon according to Obama) were around 2 feet. Depending on if people stay indoors or not, we could have a pretty bad situation. If people go out on the roads and interfere with the plows, which they're liable to do, it could get bad.

I'm in Chicago, and there is flurries! They're predicting super mild weather this weekend (30's) and no snow! We are usually the ones pounded by snow, so I'll gladly take it.

I'm in Florida and the temperatures Saturday and Sunday night will be in the 40s & 50s! No snow but most homes do not have heat so it will be a chilly weekend for us. I plan to use the fireplace and put an extra blanket or two on the bed and snuggle up with my big furry kitties. I can't wait! Today it's in the low 70s and has been raining the whole day. After the front blows through it will clear and dry over the weekend.

It's Summer here, no snow!

Here's Raiden yesterday after we got several inches of snow! We came right back in. I think his belly was dragging in the snow and he hated that, plus his legs disappeared.

There are flurries. Both cats are curled up in blankets with us with a "big f-you" look on their grumpy faces. :)

The snow is still here and Raiden goes out for maybe five minutes and wants back in! We had drifts on the side yard that are at least 8" deep and he HATES walking over there.
