When it comes to nutrition for a cat, you have to feed them what they will eat. Some cats are quite finicky an you may have to try several different kinds and brands before you hit on something your kitty will enjoy eating. A kitten, especially, needs lots of calories! So they HAVE to eat! You may need to purchase a can or this or a can of that or a bag of this ....and see what works. Some on here advocate raw feeding. You can read up on it in the Nutrition section of the forum.

Eight more days -- (I love counting down to things).

Five more days!!! thanks for the advice with feeding him. I know for sure I'm not changing anything he eats for at least 4 weeks. That way he gets used to his surroundings before hand. It would be mean to just throw him in a new home, take him from his mama, brothers and sisters and change his food all in one fell swoop. I'll use Royal canin like his breeder does, then very slowly and gradually change to a different food. I know a lot recommend raw, but I just don't know that I'm cut out for raw feeding. I plan to supplement his food with raw, and use raw as a treat, but I don't think I can do strictly raw. I hope that doesn't make me a bad Bengal mom

It doesn't make you a bad mummy, Magic was on raw when he left the breeder, but I changed him to wet food and some dry, I also give him cooked turkey and pouches of cat tuna, never human tuna, he is fit and healthy and has a lovely shiney coat. You must do what is suitable for you.
I found that Magic actually enjoyed the wet food rather than raw, he won't touch anything raw now.

Four more days now! You're going to be a good mom!!! A gradual change in the diet is fine. And, as we all know, parenting is individual. You will do what you think is best for your kitty. Know that if Ivan doesn't like what you're feeding him, he will let you know in a hurry!

Thank you both! I have a friend who has ferrets, and the ferret owning community crucifies anyone who chooses to feed anything other than raw. Its brutal. My thought is, if my baby is on a high quality food- whether wet, dry, raw or a combination off all of the above, it has a far better life than those who may not be. 4 more days is too long! lol be prepared for a lot of pictures once I get my hands on him!

It's so exciting, I am going to see a baby snow girl on Saturday which I will probably be bringing home with me to go with Magic, we have been thinking of getting another baby, I rang the breeder and she happened to have a girl ready now so it has all happened quickly so I haven't had to wait.

I pick up my new girl tomorrow as well, I hope the introduction to Magic goes OK, it's more exciting for you as it's your first.

Hi Sherry-

I couldn't upload pics from my phone here, so I had to wait until I got to a computer... Either way, he is the most adorable little lunatic I have ever met! He follows me, but wont let us hold him. He sits at my feet on the couch, and if I try to pet him when he doesn't deem it necessary, he runs away! He chirps a lot, so I chose to rename him Crow. lol The breeder was absolutely amazing, she takes great care of all her cats, and we got to meet quite a few babies and the mothers. (She seperates the fathers for obvious reasons). Im going to make a folder in gallery now for Crow.
