Wishing a joyful Christmas

I would like to wish you and all our furry friends a merry Christmas and all the best,lots of belly rubs,meows and good health!!! All the best for the new year and that our Xmas trees stay in one piece :biggrin:

My wish for next year is to take a few minutes more time a day to play with the cats. What is yours?

Merry Christmas to everyone (3 days early). My wish is to have more patience with Raiden. He's really pretty good most of the time, but the second my eyes open in the morning, he starts on his rampage to get his morning walk. I can't just hop out of bed and hook him up and take him out. My peepers need time to adjust to the light, get dressed, eat breakfast, take my vitamins, and then get him hooked up and out the door. We return and he takes a long nap, but is once again ready for the afternoon walk (usually 2 hours early) and the howling starts again. I tend to lose my patience with him. It's not his fault! He can't tell time. But, I am getting older and older and my patience left me years ago. I will try to take deeper breaths and give him more kitty hugs and kisses.

Sherry - It must be like torture to have meowing constantly. You can get these really amazing noise cancelling headphones, my friend's husband used them on flights and I put them on and could not believe how well they worked. If I were you, I would invest in some silence. I looked on Amazon and they range from £25 to £269 but the reviews seem the same with cheap and expensive options. I would try some cheap ones and press that mute button on Raiden! Happy Christmas to everyone too!

Sherry I think you need the headphones Melissa has suggested! I think my two are loud but they are quiet as mice compared to what you are describing!

My wish for next year is to have two bengals who get on with each other again!

Raiden does not like to be locked out in his enclosure. He goes and comes at will. The one time I did lock him in there, I thought he was going to break down the cat door. He did not like it! Nope, I just tolerate his screaming. This morning, he woke me up at 6:21 a.m. and didn't stop howling until I took him outside. Now, he's fine! I don't think there are headphones that could cancel out his crying. He would love to be roaming the great outdoors, but we saw two other cats on our walk this morning and he was wanting to go after them. His crying is a million times better than when we first got him when he cried 24/7 and we literally got no sleep at night. When I first read that bengals are "vocal," I thought it meant they like to talk with you --softly! Not screaming! I think there is a video on YouTube somewhere of him crying the second I got home from work.

Honestly Sherry these headphones are unbelievable. They can completely eliminate a jet engine noise and when I put them on we put the tv up loud and I could not hear a thing! I would get very frustrated if I had as much meowing as you!

My one wish is to have an uneventful New Year! This has been by far one of the worst years of my life and I'll be glad to see the back of it.

Thankfully, I only have to endure this a short time each day! I love Raiden and spent time with him while he's howling! It's like having a screaming toddler. I would never put headphones on for a screaming child -- and wouldn't do it for Raiden. I might need those headphones for my husband's snoring!

Sherry i understand you! My 4yr old wakes me up on the weekends wanting me to build his lego immediately!! I have to tell him to wait till I have woken up properly.
I can't believe how good the girls are with the Christmas tree!! They find it fun to have a snooze under the tree. All ornaments are still in one piece and only one plastic ball got taken by one of them. But its ok! I was already thinking the tree will be knocked down :biggrin:

I have been taking some more time playing with them and Phaedra has finally become abit more cuddly. I try to get my son more involved with the cats,giving them snacks and now he helps me clean the litter box. Hope you all had a peaceful Christmas!!!

Glad to hear your tree has survived, Genevieve. I think most everyone's has. There are just some pistols out there and take the tree out! I've loved seeing all the bengal under the Christmas trees on the bengal Facebook page. I can't wait until it gets cold again. Raiden sleeps completely through the night when it's freezing outside. Since it's been warmer here, he's waking me up in the middle of the night or 45 minutes before the alarm goes off and I don't get a chance to fall back asleep again before it does go off! I need to set Raiden's alarm! The whole patience thing is not working! We are out on our walk for well over an hour and he is not ready to return home when I say, "time go to back home." He growls at me and reverses his path. I have to pick him up, carry him for a while, listen to him growl at me, put him down and watch him once again reverse his path away from our house! Why don't I have a regular kitty who does not want to go outside? :biggrin:
