I know exactly what you mean Clare&magic, I am totally in love with the boy! They are so very special and very quirky love bugs! X

Sherry, I got the chin acne under control and Eddie is recovering very fast. I will post a photo to compare the difference.

For anyone who would like few tips of how to remedie the condition (chin acne) please read my few tips that worked well for us:

Twice a day (morning and evening) I applied very warm and water soaked make up pads to the chin area carefully removing the residue from the glands (the black flakes). This method soaks the fur and gently cleans the skin. I then applied diluted chlorhexidine to the area. After I applied the chlorxehidine I then proceeded to dry the fur gently with very soft clean cotton material.

If you can't obtain chlorhexidine you can buy from a pet store a special cat shampoo. Please make sure that it contains anti-bacterial properties. I bought one with Byotrol as an ingredient and used this instead of the chlorhexidine in the last few days. Please make sure that you rinse the shampoo from the chin and that you don't use too much of it. You then proceed to gently dry the area.

All of this was followed by regularly washing the ceramic dishes Eddie eats from. As it happened to us, Eddie found it irritating to eat from them and I had to hand feed. Couple of shallow ceramic plates also helped.

If you are patient and persistent, the chin acne will start clearing within a week.

Me and Eddie sincerely hope that we could help someone by posting our experience on this forum. Xx

You have become quite the expert here!!! Good for you!!! I checked Raiden's chin yesterday and it's just covered with fur. No problems there. Sounds like Eddie is on the road to recovery and would love to see the after pictures. You've been such a great nurse for him.

Thank you Sherry X

Today is exactly one week of treatment for Eddie and you can see from the last photo that his fur is growing back nicely and the redness has gone. I am very pleased.
