How was he his first full night with you? Hoping he slept through the night and was hungry this morning.

Awww, he slept through the night very well and cuddled up with me on our bed. Kept purring so softly and didn't cry at all. Today we decided that we are not eating (only tiny amount hand fed) and that we play, sleep, play, go to the toilet and sleep.
I also found that chlorhexidine works well for chin acne so I have applied it few times. I hope it will get rid of the infection. Researched loads last night and found that it is not toxic for cats if licked but works well for the skin

Aww, hopefully the medication will work for Eddie's chin. It's possible the "not eating" part is due to the chin situation since they seem to put the chin in the bowl. How soon before he goes to the vet?

Hello Sherry X

We go to the vet tomorrow. Hopefully I will find out some answers. It seams to not bother him but it does look to me sore with a bit of pinkish skin with black flakes. Don't know.

He is playing very well and is very socialised. Such an extrovert. Slept again all through the night in our bed. We have had loads of cuddles and conversations through out the day and I make sure he eats little and often as much as I can feed him. Maybe he is still stressed from the change of environment? Apart from the eating you could not tell. We are both home alone (I have taken holiday) while my husband is at work. No stress factors that I can think of. X

I guess he hasn't eaten with you yet, but what type of dishes did you get for him going forward? Plastic dishes can cause the black chin dandruff. Ceramic dishes are much preferred.

Thank you for your comment brianj12

Yes, I got all ceramic dishes and the same food what the breeders were feeding. He has eaten some food but mainly I am hand feeding him. Drinking water alright. I am just hoping he will settle in and that we will get good advice tomorrow and some medication for his chin. Please have a look at my other topic. Thank you. Xx

Hmm yea, dunno. It's probably a good thing to take him to the vet now anyway, even if everything was perfect, that's how I'd look at it. Is he scratching at it?

It's wonderful that things are going so well with him. He's not hiding and is social, so there would be no reason for stress and his not eating. I still think the chin is causing an issue there. It may rub up against the side of the bowl and cause discomfort! You might want to feed him on a plate and see if that helps. The vet should be able to give (I mean, SELL at a huge profit) you something to heal it. And if that's the ONLY thing wrong with Eddie, you've done good!
