Hi All,
I am new to this forum and am hoping that someone can offer some advice on how to make cage rest as bearable as possible for my bengal kitten Pedro.
Pedro was hit by a car last Sunday and has only just returned home following surgery to pin and plate his right pelvic bone. Other than that he seems to be fine and as he can move his tail and legs, and pee and poo there doesn't appear to be any other complications. Surgery appears to have gone well and the surgeon thinks he should make a pretty much full recovery.
However he needs to stay in a cage to ensure proper rest which will allow full bone healing to take place. Just 2 days after the op he has been able to stand, albeit with some awkwardness, and now that the various painkillers, anaesthetics etc have worn off he is returning very much back to himself!
And this is the issue- he already looks bored and I just know he'll be stir crazy before a few days are up! So given that he will be in there for 4-6 weeks at least I need some ideas on how I can try and entertain him without taking a chance of interfering with his healing?
All thoughts, tips and advice appreciated...
Regards,
Terry
