A Cat free apartment - it is just too quiet.

So, I've been away for a few days in sunny Munich having a job interview and eating lots of tasty food and drinking a fair amount of beer. I dropped Ada and Babbage into a cat hotel on Thursday and they are getting delivered back here tomorrow lunchtime. I am now home and the apartment is just too quiet - no miaowing, nothing getting knocked around, chased, pilfered or pinched.

I am spoiling myself by drinking wine out of a *stemmed* glass and watching bengal cat videos ( not allowed to watch them normally as Ada starts looking to batter whomever is coming into her territory ).

So, a little poll for tomorrow - when the little monsters come back, how will they behave ?

Place your bets Ladies and Gentlemen, and I'll update you tomorrow when the circus comes back to town....

OK - they are back and everything has been sniffed ( at least ) twice.

They are actually, and to me surprisingly, close to Ohygodwemissedyou! with a hint of Loud Complaints... They have been decidedly cuddly and have kept very close to me for the last 4 hours, which ever room I am walking into I a always at least the 2nd through the door. After 4 hours straight of running around, playing, miaowing and flying through the air they have finally crashed, Ada on my desk next to me, Babbage in a basket near by.

Just come back from centre parcs so only just seen your post! Went for the VERY loud complaining! Hope the little darlings survived their ordeal?!

I voted before I scrolled down. It's a toss up how cats will behave after being separated from you. You would hope they would crawl all over you and give you loud purrs and kitty kisses. I think most are just aloof and think, "okay, I'm back home. This is good." Obviously, they do not know about a possible move??? That could change the entire picture. I hope this is a job you truly want and get.

Sherry - No possible move at the moment. I work in The Hague and had to go to Munich for a job in ... The Hague. It was just that the head of dept and most of the candidates were in Munich, so I got a free trip and stayed a couple of extra days.

Oh, and guess who, tired from travelling, knocked a glass of red wine over the white rug last night ?? :redface:

Babbage will think I am trying to do him out of a job.

Well, that's good news! No move if you get the job! I cannot imagine moving with a cat. I've done it twice in my life -- once was just around the corner and the other was from Florida to Tennessee. Those moves were fairly easy with a regular moggie. Raiden would be a whole different story.

Mine ignore me completely for 12 - 24 hours, then it's clingy stations for a couple of days before settling back to normal :rolleyes:

When my husband I went out of town for a week and had a friend stay at the house the cats couldn't have cared less when we got home. Diesel told me off a bit but otherwise acted normally. But when I went away for a weekend a few weeks later (husband stayed home) Diesel was SO happy to have me home. He was talking non stop and climbing all over me, purring, drooling and licking me. It was hilarious.

It's great when kitties miss you while you're gone! Raiden isn't affectionate in the first place. He just goes on his merry little way as if nothing happened.
