Could anyone please advise me on the best age to have my little fella neutered.

You want to do it before he reaches sexual maturity (this usually happens at about 6 months). I'd say to neuter by age 4-5 months so that he doesn't start marking/spraying, trying to escape, etc.

Quasar was cut at 10 weeks. Our humane society does it as early as possible and does not adopt out pets who are not neutered. :thumbup:

Thank you all he is 4mths old now. Does it not interfere in their growth being done so young, I was always told it would, I thought they were about 8/9 month. So it's safe to have them Done so early.

No, it doesn't interfere at all. Our animal societies etc here all do them before 12 weeks and there are no issues.

My two were neutered before they came to us at 14 weeks. I can safely say it didn't interfere with their growth as they are both about 6kg each. They have also never sprayed!

Many males and females are fixed before they ever leave the breeder at 12 weeks. My male was. I think four months is the optimum age and wouldn't wait any longer than that.

No, it doesn’t interfere with their growth at all. All reputable breeders (where I will) will not allow a kitten to leave their cattery without being desexed first. This is usually done at 10-11 weeks of age. Most breeders do stand by desexing at this age. The kittens quickly heal and it doesn’t harm their development in any way.

Had Blaze neutered today 6mths old today. My vets in England won't neuter till after they are 5mths. Hope it quietes him down abit. He is getting into a big boy now over 4kilos and I think he was getting ready for girlfriend, but that won't be happening now. Sorry Blaze. He needs to start calming down abit now almost wrecked all my wallpaper near back door trying to get through it. Been home almost an hour and he's springing about with dog, so no change there. Oh well live in hope for quieter days ha ha but then perhaps not.

It takes a while for the testosterone the leave your boy's system, so the quieting down won't happen overnight. Glad he's neutered so he won't be interested in going after the ladies.
