Hi,

I adopted Rusty and his bother Marty over 2 weeks ago. He is a very pretty cat and looking at him I was wondering whether some Bengal blood might have sneaked in. His mother is a standard European street cat. His father is unknown. The woman we got the two boys from however breeds Bengal cats and who knows...maybe some genes were transferred.
Marty is black and white, but to my knowledge cats from one litter can have different fathers.
Have a look and let me know what you think :-)
I cannot comment on Rysty's phisique as he is still growing and only 3 months old. Also cats have different characters and kittens are crazy anyway. I find Rusty a bit wild though and he seems very intelligent...but who knows how he will develop.

It's a little bit difficult to tell and would be good if you could post some more photos.

From what I can see it does look like Bengal spot markings on his fur, stripes on legs and striped tail so I'll give you a yes vote but would like to see more photos!

Possibly a Snow Bengal mix.

Hi,

here are some more pictures...also, his fur is much softer than his brother's...

I can't really tell, but looks more exotic than a regular Tabby, IMO.

There are muted bengal characteristics based on your pictures so if there is bengal in there, it's not much. Still a very beautiful kitty. Without knowing for sure what the parents were, you'll never really know. Just enjoy Rusty!

Definitely looks part Bengal to me particularly given his history.

His coat looks like a Bengal's too (soft pelt).

There is definitely a different feel to a bengal pelt! They don't have fur like a regular kitty. There are rosettes on Rusty -- I'm guessing there is some bengal in him. Your black and white kitty is beautiful. I love b/w kitties, too.

Torrio, can I ask why do you think it's a tabby?

It's pretty obvious when it is a tabby cat not that there is anything wrong with that and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but why do you think it's a tabby?

I can clearly see there are definitely Bengal markings there. Or is it a case if it's not 'pure' Bengal then it's a tabby?

I do think it's possible this boy has some Bengal blood, but what that means is really pretty nebulous. Every Bengal has tabby in them, so it's natural that they share many characteristics. The thing that makes me lean more firmly toward "tabby" in this case is the ticking in the fur.

But hey, anything is possible and without a pedigree, we'll never really know.

my Quasar is 100% Bengal and has quite a bit of ticking. It is quite common, if less desirable. The ALC was certainly ticked.
