Just wondered if anyone else has used one of these?

I need to get Hendrix on dry food only due to an ongoing tummy issue to see if it sorts it out, or if further tests are needed.

I only got it yesterday, Jagger is highly suspicious and won't use it so far, and Hendrix is trying to break into it to get to Jagger's food. I have managed to programme it to recognise only Jagger's microchip and he has managed to open it but he really isn't keen on it so far!

If anyone has used them, are they Bengal proof? I still remember buying an auto feeder and it being broken within seconds of it being put down!

I really need this to work so I can keep a close eye on what Hendrix is eating and see if I can work out what is aggravating him. His dry food is okay as he's been on it for ages, and it is for sensitive tummies and had a really positive effect straight away. I've printed off all the ingredients on what they are fed, and I did spot Hendrix scoffing loads of Jagger's dry before the recurrence so I'm going to exclude that first and gradually cut down on the wet as well and see how it goes.

Any reviews on the feeder would be greatly appreciated! I don't want to spend out on another before I know its worth it as they're not cheap!!!

The reviews on Amazon are positive! There is an independent review that was glowing and had only a couple of cons. I certainly hope this works out for you. You're right ... this is not a cheap product.

Yes I read the reviews, but I read the reviews for the auto feeder as well, and that turned out badly lol

I managed to get it a cheaper than the Amazon price which made me feel slightly better about the cost!

I am hoping it works and they don't break it as if so, I'll get another one for Hendrix (can't have him feeling left out) as I think it will mean less mess everywhere and he is the messiest eater out of the two of them. It does have a lot of pluses, such as keeping food fresher longer, no flies able to get to the food, able to see who is eating what and if they need special food or medication, avoiding any other pets stealing it etc. But then it should have plenty of benefits for the price!

One thing I don't like is the plastic trays. But not a lot I can do about that.

I just want to sort out Hendrix's dicky tummy!

Thanks, it does seem quite sturdy - and has resisted Hendrix's attempts to sabotage it so far... but that was just one afternoon with me supervising!

On a more positive note, I swear the probiotics you recommended has done wonders for Hendrix's fur - he is almost as silky soft as Jagger now!

I've noticed a real change in Raiden's pelt as well. He's getting a probiotic, too. I was thinking it might be his winter coat coming in, though, but the fur is really super soft. I really hope Hendrix tummy gets to feeling better. What we don't go through for our babies. Most automatic feeders are probably plastic, rather than ceramic or even stainless steel. Wading through reviews is tough because they are usually all over the place. Good and bad.

Well progress is being made. Jagger will eat from it now, although I'm still training him really, he doesn't often activate it himself and eats from the side instead of the front but he's getting there.

Hendrix is fuming he can't get to Jagger's dry so easily - he was howling last night in frustration. However, Jagger scoffed a load of his dry this morning and promptly regurgitated it. I thought I'd cleared it all up, but Hendrix found a bit I'd missed and I only realised when I saw him eating it - gross. So I'll never be able to stop that completely if I'm not there to clear up, but Hendrix seemed less grumpy last night. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic that it is Jagger's dry food though, it may be that he was stir crazy as it was raining all day, but they were both totally bonkers last night playing and chasing each other.

I do wonder if he's had tummy ache and that is part of the issue with him being moody and grump sometimes.

Anyway, fingers crossed that progress continues. I'm ordering Hendrix one today and then I can spend the entire weekend training them. Usually if Hendrix does something, Jagger will follow and Hendrix is easier to bribe with treats and as such will probably pick up what he needs to do quicker as a result.

Well, Jagger has got the hang of it with pretty minimal training. He's still a bit funny about the noise it makes as it sounds like a dvd being ejected, but it doesn't bother him too much, and Hendrix has accepted he can't break into it (well I think he has, he may be lulling me into a false sense of security!).

Getting Hendrix his one tonight and then I can really keep an eye on what he is eating and fingers crossed I can identify the problem and his tummy improves.

Less mess on the kitchen floor where jagger eats as well, bonus! And Jagger's dry food stays fresher longer and doesn't lose its crunch.

Pretty pleased so far, although my bank balance doesn't look so happy lol
