Hello!
We have a new Bengal kitty, 5 months old who isn't super active. We have only had her for 5 days so I am sure she is still getting used to us. She still spends a lot of time hiding (we keep her confined to one room for now most of the time) but is slowly warming up to us. She is quite shy and timid still.

Is that normal that she isn't really active yet? She is eating and drinking well an using her litter box. She is an indoor cat.. The pic is one her breeder sent us. image.jpg

It's quite normal. Just go at her pace, she'll investigate in her own time and explore more and more. Just remember that every experience she has will have an impact on her as an adult. Make as many positive associations with interactions as possible and don't let bad behaviour go unchecked.

Yes this is very normal, my two didn't do too much except hide for the first few days. I'm sure she'll be keeping you on your toes in the near future though!

Thanks so much for the great advice :). So heartbreaking to know how scary all this must be for her right now!

Since she is hiding, she is scared and not comfortable in her surroundings. Every cat reacts differently when you bring them into a new home. You need to be patient. Once she settles in, you will not be able to keep up with her. It just takes time and patience!!! In your other post, you said that she'd grown up at the breeder's. Hopefully, the breeder made sure she was socialized and played with her.

Awe she's adorable. Give her time and be patient. She'll come around soon. Her reaction is totally normal.
