MY 4 MONTH BANGLE WAS PEEING OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. BROUGHT A UA SPEC TO VET WHO DIAGNOSED HIM WITH URINE CRYSTALS AND RECOMMENEC ROYAL CANIN URINARY SO FOOD. ITS SUPER EXPENSIVE AND I HAVE 3 BANGLES WHO WERE ON LIFES ABUNDANCE WET FOOD. MY PROBLEM IS IF I SWITCH ALL THREE TO R,C, URINARY FOOD IT WILL PUT ME IN THE POOR HOUSE ITS SO HARD TO FEED SEPARATE MEALS FOR 3 CATS ESPECIALLT KITTEN WHO EATS 3 TIMES A DAY. I READ THAT IF I ADD ALOT OF WATER TO LIFES ABUNDANCE IT MIGHT DO THE SAME AS URINARY SO, WHOSE FIRST INGREDIANT IS WATER,. VET SAYS IF IN FEED HIM THIS FOOD IT MIGHT PREVENT FUTURE SURGERY FOR BLOCKAGE . HAS ANYONE EVER HAD A KITTEN WITH CRYSTALS D WHAT DID YOU DO? THANKS PAT

You need to feed the kitty with the different food in a different area. There is no real need to put all your cats on an expensive food. If you're getting the food from your vet, it's probably very expensive. You may be able to order it online for a cheaper price. I don't know that I would water down the food. Take the cat with the urinary crystals and feed it in a separate area. It shouldn't be that much of a problem until the crystals are dissolved and gone.

Don't feed all three the food. If you have more than one room in your home, you can feed them separately. Yeah, it will be a pain but I presume it is only for a few weeks.

You can try to encourage your cat(s) to drink more to prevent future crystals, some people do this by adding water to the food. I don't think adding water to food will help clear up your cat's existing crystals.

My last cat refused to eat her kidney disease rx food. She would starve and go under 5 pounds! They have appetite stimulants to get them to eat, but they made my cat act like she was on speed so they didn't work for her. I gave up and fed her the junk food she wanted to keep her going.

Keep trying with your kitten while it's young. Once they are old it is really hard to get them to change.

If this is to be a lifetime food, I would definitely surf the web and order online from the cheapest vendor. If your kitty doesn't like to be fed in a different room, then feed the kitty in the same general area. Owning a cat is never inexpensive. I've incurred over $500 worth of vet bills for Raiden in the past week and the dental cleaning will be over $300 next week. My hubby reminds me every day how much Raiden costs us, but I wouldn't have it any other way. All you can do is the best you can with the food dilemma.
