Hello all (again).

Can anyone recommend a good quality food (wet or dry) for a Bengal with a sensitive stomach. He was fine on a relatively poor quality pouch which the previous owner fed him, however i have moved him onto Hills Science Plan and this does not agree with him. i have reverted back to the pouches so he settles again, but i want to feed him a higher quality food (without breaking the bank). I have heard conflicting reports about Bozita and pretty much everything to be honest.

I am thinking about applaws and / or Porta 21 dry with Bozita or leonardo wet. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations with these or for any others?

Any and all advice gladly received.

Hendrix has a sensitive tummy as well and anything that is too rich for him goes straight through him. I put him on Royal Canin Sensible dry food but he also eats meowing heads dry which I believe is grain free and doesn't upset him. I also feed both of them Lily's Kitchen (which is organic) wet food, Meowing Heads wet food and Thrive tins. They have a tendency to go off things for a while so I have a variety that I know suits them both and generally like. These are all high meat contents and grain free with no artificial additives.

Its a bit trial and error and of course any food change needs to be done really slowly to avoid any tummy upsets, and you will get to know if something really disagrees with them - neither of mine can eat liver or lamb. They won't touch anything fishy and will only eat chicken or turkey generally.

I found Orijen good for Babbage, who had almost always had a sensitive stomach when he first came to me. You can get if from Zooplus. Note that you'll need to give him a while on whatever he is used to and then gently switch over - a bit more each day. You can expect things to get worse at first before improving which can take a couple of weeks.

Applaws might be good too, I tried it, but not in isolation/for long enough to really find out if it worked for my 2.

Obviously, you need to cut out all treats, etc. when trying to find out if a certain food gives rise to digestive problems with your cat - feeding them one thing alone for a couple of weeks should prove/disprove if they are suitable or not.

There are many brands that offer food for sensitive tummies. Just google it. Thing is, when you try to change a cat's diet abruptly, this can happen! Just as a human eating a new diet will have digestive problems. You're having quite the adjustment period here with your kitties. Things will become normal soon!

My cats have had digestive issues as kittens but that seems to be behind them now.

They also have Science Diet venison green pea dry food from the vet. They have some sort of itching going on that may be related to chicken or the flea medication…the jury is still out. They are doing really well on the venison. they love meal time so much that they twirl in unison as i walk the food over to the feeing spot. They look like a couple of whirling dervish; it cracks me up every time!

I've never had a cat on a feeding schedule. Raiden always has wet and dry food out and he nibbles throughout the day.

Applaws is now off the list. Both cats loved it, but it has caused both minor stomach problems. Taste of the Wils is next i think. i will get there eventually.

Buy a food that says specifically on the label, "sensitive stomach" or something like that. Just about every food manufacturer makes something like that -- wet and dry. These products are going to have ingredients that are easier on the digestive system. If you just "google" that term (adding "cat"), you will find all the cat food out there made specifically for cats with sensitive digestive tracts.

I'd also consider feeding smaller portions and feeding more often and see how that goes. Should this continue for much longer, a trip to the vet is necessary.

Well so far bozita for sensitive stomachs has gone down well as has porta21. Neither seem keen on bozita wet though so I will try something else.

I'm sure it's not the best tasting food for the kitties, but happy to hear they are able to keep the food down.

Has anyone tried Alaska natural cat food. It's a raw on the kiezebrink website. They also sell minced chicken and quite a few other things and it all looks pretty cheap so I'm a bit worried about what the quality would be to feed my two monsters.
