It's bring your dog to work day in my office today. I don't have a dog, but it makes me wonder how Bring Your Cat To Work Day would turn out. I think I would just bring Grace, Blondie would be frightened I think, but who knows. Maybe they would want to be together. I don't think they would last the full day and I definitely wouldn't wear black.

I have taken my cat to meetings at work before. He usually just stays on my lap or wanders around checking out the furniture on the end of his leash.

That's awesome! I've never worked at a place that did anything like that. Of all our cats I think only our orange moggie would deal with coming to work like that. He's the most mellow cat in the world, loves everyone and every thing.

Isn't it "Bring your PETS to work day?" That means cats, too! Unfortunately, many cats won't behave like dogs in the work place. Most dogs would be on a leash and unless your cat is trained to be on one, the kitty won't cooperate. Plus, cats love to jump, so you don't know where you'd find them. Ban all pets from the workplace because no work will get done. Everyone will be oohing and aawwing over the animals! Besides, most cats would cry constantly on the ride to and from the office.

Well our office has a pet charity to fund rescuing dogs from the FL Everglades so they allowed dog owners to bring in their pet in exchange for a donation. The dogs were all well behaved and got along with each other. They even had a doggie ice creme social out by the lake. I imagine cats would not be so friendly with each other or people. It is a very slow time of year so the timing was perfect.

Jill, I didn't realize this was just something your office did!! I know there IS an official day!!! Yeah, I can only imagine the male cats and the territorial thing, although I'm sure there are some who would just chill out and lay on your desk -- or on your computer keyboard and that way you absolutely could not do any work!
