Hello! New owner of a bengal mix

Hi everyone--

I am the new "owner" of a Bengal mix kitten. My five year old is intent on naming him Tiger so I suppose Tiger it is. His personality is unlike any other cat I have met...almost contradictory. Half of the time he is extremely wild and active but during the remainder of the day he is literally the most cuddly, affectionate cat ever (nonstop purring, head bumping, wants to cuddle up with you as close as possible). I have yet to hear him meow but he is constantly making noise (sounds like chirps??). I have to say I am totally in love...exactly the temperament I always wished for in a cat.

For this reason, I am contemplating adding a purebred Bengal from a reputable breeder to the family in the following months. I believe Tiger would love a playmate, and--in all honesty--I am constantly drooling over the purebred Bengals. I figure it would be best to introduce a new kitten to the family sooner than later (while Tiger is still young and relatively adaptable). Being that both are/will be fixed, would there be a benefit to getting a female kitten? Or can two neutered males get along just as well?

I joke that he looks a bit like a striped hyena... especially with all that fuzz :eek:

He's a gorgeous kitty! It may be easier to get them acquainted when both are young. Males are highly territorial but that doesn't mean they can't share territory. Both cats need their own space. Cat trees and multiple litter boxes are a must. Outside of that, they should have the same energy level and play well together. Depending on whether you can find a breeder who currently has a litter, you could wait up to 6 months for a purebred bengal. Life with one can be an adventure. I don't know what it's like with two, but many on here have more than that!
