Thanks for all the advice guys. Amazingly I came in from work today and the change was unbelievable. They were laid within 10 inch of each other and even licked each other. I left them to it and they were fine for a good few hours. The hissing started from the younger one and at this point the older one took it upon himself to go behind the TV and pee almost immediately. They are now separated again for the night and I think they will be fine. Just got to stop him peeing outside the tray now :)
Excellent news - I figured this would sort itself out if they were eating together okay.
It might be worth keeping an eye on them to see if there is anything specific triggering the hissing from the younger one - he sounds pretty feisty if he is managing to upset the older one to the point he is peeing inappropriately.
It may be that the older one was washing the younger one and the little one got fed up with it - but clearly you now need to get on top of the inappropriate peeing. If it was me, I'd put a litter tray near where he is running behind the TV - or behind the TV if there is room. Or put a bowl of dry food there as he won't pee where there is food.
Glad you feel happier with progress now!
