So cute! Love marbles, but I'm biased as I have two marble boys.

Re Bengal-proofing, I didn't really have chance, as although we always said we'd have cats when I moved in with my other half, I wasn't there long before I found two brothers, went to see them and brought them home the same day - not ideal so I learnt on the job so to speak as I'd never heard of Bengals before Jon mentioned them and didn't realise what a handful they are lol

Anyway, I would try to make any leads as inaccessible as possible, firmly tape them away from prying paws or mouths or hide them under carpet or anything that will stop them being attacked/played with. Ours learnt very quickly how to pull the lead out from the sound bar for the TV, and they love playing with leads. I bought child locks for cupboards with any cleaning stuff in or anything that may be dangerous to a cat. Become very minimalistic - Bengals LOVE knocking things off shelves, sometimes I think just to see what happens when it hits the ground and if it breaks, they will dive into it and could hurt themselves. You'll be surprised at how determined they can be on this front, ours will stretch as far as they can to reach anything on a shelf. Get as many scratch posts as you can accommodate to prevent damage to furniture. Get over the fact that he will go on your kitchen counters and try to make sure he has plenty of vertical space.

All of that makes them sound terrible, but they are very rewarding and great fun! I love my two to bits.

Going back to an earlier post, I am also with PetPlan and would recommend them. If cost is an issue, stick to one, having two is very expensive - it is about £100 for both of them to have their annual boosters, plus insurance, plus food, flea and worm treatments etc. It all adds up pretty quickly.

Good luck and wishing you years of fun and games with your new addition!

I got Raiden when he was 6 years old, so I've never had to deal with a bengal kitten. Harvey will see everything from floor level and find the strangest things that you would never see. Keep doors closed -- closets mainly and know that bengals are good at opening them once they get big enough. Wires and cables seem to attract them, so try and make sure they are out of sight. Raiden only hops on the kitchen counter when I'm preparing his food bowl. It's not one of his favorite places. A cat enclosure is excellent -- Raiden loves his and are walks are necessary because he was a free-roaming cat when I got him and he will not stay indoors all the time. Bengals are vocal ... expect lots of meowing. They are insistent and usually will cry until they get what they want -- mostly attention. Mine will walk up to me and cry and I'll follow him to see what he wants. He rolls over on his back and wants his belly rubbed. For that, I followed him all the way through the house! Bengals are the greatest creatures though. I suppose 10 weeks isn't too bad and with your having a few days off to spend with him will be good. Don't expect too much in the beginning. Hopefully, the breeder has socialized him well but Harvey will still be astounded with his new environment. I can't wait to hear about all your adventures with Harvey.

With toys, definitely get him a flying frenzy (available from Amazon), my two both go bonkers for this and growl over it. Really good for burning off Bengal energy! Laser toy the same, although seems mean as they can't catch anything! Flying Frenzy has all sorts of different attachments as well to ad some variety.

Hendrix really likes little bouncy balls - he'll play fetch with you for hours. I never leave them lying around though as if he's left unattended with one, he sometimes chews them to pieces. He doesn't like the jet balls though as they don't bounce as well and are very hard in his mouth.

My petplan insurance didn't go up this year and I'd claimed on it so it isn't too bad.

So I thought I should post an update. Harvey ended up not being called Harvey and is called Oscar! He was understandably quite shy on first arrival but I believe Bengals not being lap cats is just a myth - he was cuddled against his will when first taken home so he could get used to it and now he can't get enough!! Sometimes he can be a bit too needy but he's a lovely boy. He has recently learned to play fetch and has socialised well with other people, children and his best pal my Mums dog on the occasional visit or when I'm out of town! Pretty sure he is convinced I'm his Dad, follows me from room to room haha. He watches TV a fair bit - particularly loves wildlife programs - and on a recent drive to another city he was going so crazy in his carrier i had to just let him out and he slept on my lap all the way there!!

Considering getting a 2nd little fella so he has company during the day when I'm out but still unsure - don't really wanna turn into crazy cat man!

Here is a selection of photos :)

Totally gorgeous! My husband used to drive with our last cat loose too as he was so distressed in the carrier. Not sure what the police would have to say about it if stopped  Oscar is so lovely and now is the time to get a pal for him if you are thinking of it! Go on......become a crazy cat man!

Congratulations ... you finally got Harvey ... I mean Oscar! He's beautiful! Please, please, please do not allow him to be loose while you're driving. I cannot tell you the number of Facebook posts I see from owners who have been in an accident and their pet ran away or was injured because the pet was not contained -- people have seat belts. You never know when you may have to slam on the brakes for some idiot in front of you and Oscar goes flying through the air! It's not worth it. I know cats cry in the carrier. I just turn the music up!

Getting a second bengal can bring a few problems. You have a doggie and it seems Oscar is doing fine with the dog. Yes, I swear bengals get bored to death and want someone around them at all times. There are many people here who own two or more bengals/cats. Now is the time to get one, if you're going to get one Introductions will go a lot better with kittens. Trust me, you won't be the first guy with a couple of kitties.
