WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH MY PRECIOUS BOY ??? SO STRESSED !!

HE IS NOT PLAYING, DOESN'T WANT TO EAT, ACTS LIKE HE IS ON PASSION, JUST LAID IN HIS BED.

HE POOPED YESTERDAY AND IT WAS FORMED AND NO BLOOD OR MUCUS

HE PEED AND ACTED NORMAL, SHOWED NO SIGNS OF STRESS OR PAIN

I GOT HIM TO EAT SUM TUNA..... SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING

WE HAVE A VET APPOINTMENT TOMMOROW AT 11AM

I TODAY WITNESS THE F1 CLIMB INTO THE WATER BOWL DOWNSTAIRS AND PEE IN IT

I STARTED USING SMALL WATER BOWLS SO HE WOULD NOT DO THIS AND HE IS CONSTANTLY DOING IT AND ALSO USING THE LITTER BOX

URINE IS STERILE SO IF MY BOY INGESTED SOME WATER WITH PEE COULD HE GET SICK ????

I think her had as fever, his ears feel warm and his nose is dry

I don't want to upset him by taking his temp

I gave him a pill to stimulate his appetite and he ate an appetizer earlier and I have him a dose of pain meds called Tordal I think, it's for cats. I had left over from when he was neutered.

I just can't imagine WHY all of a sudden yesterday he started acting not himself. I thought maybe it d because my daughter was gone for 4 days and he missed her but she's home now and he is still on his bed

Any guesses ????

I'm sure I'm going to have a $1000 vet bill tomorrow because we are going to have to do blood work, stool test, urine test

I'm just perplexed. The F1 gets his first vaccine tomorrow . Could he have passed on something ?? The other cat is fine, both ate playing like crazy.

I'm just a nervous wreck , I can't imagine what could be wrong and I have FLASH backs from 2 years ago when my Tiger Kitty got sick out the blue and in his 15 yrs 3mo he had never been sick then Whamoooo 1day he was sick and in 1 week he had died

There isn't really any use stressing over what *might* be wrong. Sometimes cats will stop eating, sometimes cats will hit a lull in their activity, when both happen, they need to go into the vet very soon. In such cases I either make an appointment for the same day, or just pack the cat into the car and show up at my vet's unannounced and request to see the vet. A decent vet is not going to view this as a breach of etiquette or turn you away. It's the same as a people's hospital and "urgent care". This is something that they expect, and plan for.

If cost is part of what is making you hesitate before taking your cat to the vet, then you need to get pet insurance. That's what it is for. I also wouldn't recommend just guessing and administering your cat random pills from previous vet visits and such, unless it is some sort of recurring illness that you can identify.

I don't think he swallowed urine. Recall how strong a sense of smell that cat's have. So he would know much better than you or I what is in the water. Just make sure that there is multiple sources of fresh (untainted) water available to him at all times though.

It is not easy to stump a good veterinarian. Cats can lose their appetites for a day -- but usually no longer than that unless something is wrong. I would not settle for a vet not knowing what's wrong. That's their job! Of course, it's the owner's job to observe everything that is going on with the cat and tell that to the vet. Your vet may have to do more intense testing to find out what is wrong. I would not give a cat any old medication, period!

However, just because the blood tests your vet ran came back normal does not mean there isn't something wrong. What all did the vet test for?

If my vet (and his staff of vets) could not figure out what's going on, then I'm finding another vet. There is no way I'm going to stand for "we don't know what's wrong with your kitty." There is obviously something wrong with your boy, and it's unfair to him as he's probably not feeling very well.

Cats can go downhill extremely fast, so figuring this out ASAP is so important.

I've used the same vet since 1992 and they've never been stumped by anything -- at least for me. Naturally, I had to give them the symptoms by observing the cat. There are four vets in that practice and any time one has a question -- they bring in the other vets, so it's rare that something is missed. There are basic things they check for in the blood -- but there are so many other tests that can be run that can show other problems. You just can't give up because your kitty's health is counting on your help to get better and it's not something we, as owners, can do on our own. We need medical expertise. Thankfully, there are now vets specializing in cardiology, neurology, oncology, etc. Pets have never had such great care options. All the vet can do is delve deeper if the cat is not showing signs of improvement.
