Hi there. I've adopted a Bengal cross kitten from an animal shelter. Mum is purebred pedigree who escaped and had one night stand with an unknown local Tom. He's the smallest of the three as he was being bullied by his sisters. I pick him up in a couple of days. I've had cats before but never a Bengal although I've had Bengal envy for years! Should I go on the assumption that the Bengal tempermant will be dominant energy levels/ hunting instincts/ climbing etc ? I've been reading about bengals but I don't know anyone who's got one. Any advice welcome. I don't want to do the wrong thing due to ignorance/ inexperience. I just want a happy fur baby!

Congratulations on your new baby. I'd go on the assumption that the cat, regardless, will want to climb, jump, play, hunting. That's in every single cat. I'm sure he will be a blessed addition to your family. Shame on the "breeder" for letting the pedigreed female escape, and bless you for rescuing this kitten.

Thanks Sherry! Ordered some great climbing frames and my husband is going through the ikea catalogue planning a wall mounted cat circuit round the house. I've seen a fab running wheel too. Can't wait xx

I'll put one on when he comes home with us - and I've worked out how to do it!
