I am posting this here as it is to do with my non bengal baby.

Recently we have been rotating our kitty, Avi through knew types of foods. My boyfriend previously had him on frisks so when i moved in with him in december i was like "h*ll no, you aren't feeding him that anymore". I felt that he should be eating a generic cat food with lots of filler in it as it is not the best for cats, not to mention the fact that when our f1 arrives he will be eating primarily raw and top notch kitty food when otherwise so i felt it would not be fair to put in a bigger effort for the f1 and not the tabby we already have and love.
So we have switch over his food about 3 times now in the span of 5 months now. Each time, Avi has puked once or twice in response to the new food going through his system. Recently we switched him over to this brand that the vet recommendation called "nature balance" i believe. Avi also recently had some teeth work and is on some antibiotics and today he projectile vomitted right before my eyes.
and of course he had to be on top of his five story cat tree when he did it so its everywhere!!! I am not sure if it was the new food or the meds.
my poor baby seemed so ashamed after too :(
when we switched his food the first time and he puke i had cleaned it up using oxyclean. i know now that was a bad idea since despite rinsing the carpet as much as possible it still left a nice bleached stain in all the areas i used it-even after having the carpets professionally cleaned..at least its beige carpet and isn't as noticeable but still!

so i would like some advised this time round. in the meantime, i have just used dish soap to clean it up.

I have a small wet pet vacuum made by Bissell. It works very well on vomit and pee, as well. It uses a special urine smell antidote cleaning solution that does not stain my floors.
It was a great investment since most of our floors are carpeted and we have both a cat and dog.
I feed Quasar a strictly raw food diet but this does not preclude him from throwing up from time to time.

Very common for cats given a different type of cat food to vomit initially! Happened with mine when I put him on canned food when he had only eaten dry food all his first 6 years. After his system got used to the wet food, he was fine. You need to stick with ONE type of food instead of continuously changing. It's not giving the system time to acclimate to the new food. I usually use a paper towel to clean up the vomit -- if it's in the carpet, then I also use a carpet cleaner and when it dries, vacuum it up. A floor is much easier as you pick it up and then use a cleaner for the floor and you're done!

I hope you get Avi settled in with the food before your F1 arrives. You're going to have your hands full by then and you may not be able to deal with the vomit the way you want. The other thing is the stress the F1 will bring to Avi and the whole thing may continue. Kudos to you if you can make this all work out.
