In just 24 hours I have one bengal that is very cuddly and one that is much less so. If I'm in their room, Miss Pepper will come sit on my lap and be right next to me. Jarvis stays away unless it's nap time and Miss Pepper is already laying down with me. Then he joins in and naps with his sister.

So I chose the somewhat cuddly option.

I have to change my previous answer a bit. Jazz grew up and turned into quite a cuddly boy. It's still on his terms, but he comes to me to be petted a lot and even sleeps on me(back, legs, against my side) or my lap everyday. Still doesnt like to be picked up, but stays in my arms if I'm actually carrying him somewhere and not standing still. =))

My male Thor is too affectionate...he won't leave me alone! He loves to knead me to death and be near me any chance he can get. He loves to sleep in my lap and next to me. Scarlett on the other hand his sister has taken a while to get affectionate. At first I didn't think that she would ever tolerate being pet and sitting on my lap but she's come around a lot! She meows to sit on me and loves being pet and given kitty massages. Overall I would say that my two are more cuddly then normal.

My cat Jinxy (still only 5 months) sleeps with me every night, she often takes naps or watches movies laying on my legs. She loves to be pet and does not mind being held. Shes still young so not sure if this continues. She is a very sweet cat.

my 22 weeks old kitten has to have constant contact with me at all times or she goes spastic and destroys everything in her reach which at this point nothing is safe. we have resulted in teaching her how to walk on a harness and she literately goes everywhere with us. she has perfected hiding in her pet purse while we grocery shop which draws funny stares as my purse purrs an awful lot. and she sits and cries (high pitched drawn out yowl) at the door when she sees us getting ready. we are not sure what has set off her constant need to be around us but we really don't mind much

My 2 playing "lap chess" last night.

Ada ( silver ) played the opening move by laying lengthways between my legs, with Babbage then initially laying over the bottom part of my legs before going for the squashed kitten gambit- he basically just flopped down on top of her. Every evening they do their level best to get the comfiest spot.

My 5 year old bengal is most definitely not a lap cat, and me and others can just forget about lifting him or carrying him around. He'll wiggle himself away after half a minute, and if I put him on my lap he jumps off and sit next to me instead ("yes human, you may pet me now"). But he loves being stroked and petted - for some reason his favorite place for cuddles is on his tummy. I have automatically gone for the exact same spot on other cats, resulting in being scratched, so I'll have to think before I act on that one . He hated being petted when he was a kitten and had no time for it, but his need for affection just increase with age even though he almost never comes around and asks for cuddles. He seldom sleeps next to me in the bed, but he likes to create a spot between my legs on top of the covers and sleeps there for a good hour before he wakes up and goes to his own chair instead. He's not overly affectionate, and will probably never actively ask for my attention. But I have to admit it's convenient to have a cat who appreciates being left alone most of the time. Still, I am envious of those of you who have cats who treat your lap as a bed

Hate to report that Raiden is still not cuddly. I love cuddly cats and this is about the only thing I don't like about it. He will come on my lap for treats, but hops off immediately. He allows me to hug on him. I've had cats that were snuggle bugs and loved it. Cats that smothered me while they had to sleep basically on top of me. Raiden does not want any human contact when he's sleeping. I tried this morning and he quickly moved away and laid down again.

I love snuggly cats too.

Our Burmese who is 15 this year has never liked to be picked up or cuddled. From the first day we brought him home he hated it.

He is though extremely affectionate and loves to sit on you and be stroked. Every morning he will make a complete fuss of us, head bumping away, following us constantly around meowing for attention and sits with me all the time.

Because he is so affectionate I often 'forget' or can't stop myself from picking him up for a cuddle but he immediately stiffens and the claws come out.

I often wonder why he is like this. I remember when we got him from the breeder her house was immaculate and she brought him in from outside so he was obviously kept in a pen. Maybe this lack of socialisation is the reason why.

Our older Burmese who has passed away was the complete opposite. He would cry to be picked up, would fling himself at you if you didn't and loved to be carried around like a baby.

When we got him from the breeder all the kittens were running around and getting up to all kinds of mischief. They were so cute! The breeder's husband used to take it in turns with the kitten to carry them around in his cardigan pocket

I'm pretty sure socialisation plays a big part.

Oscar likes to cuddle on his terms. He does not usually sit on my lap for long. I was laying in front of the log burner the other night and he was so outraged that I had taken his place! He plonked himself on top of me, facing away of course, to show his displeasure! The photo made me laugh as he looks like quite a 'fat cat' as he is squashed flat. He is actually quite lean!!!! I told him......"the camera never lies"!!!

Sheena is three months old. I'm wondering if she will become more affectionate as she gets older. When she was 8 weeks old, she would climb into my lap and purr while I petted her. That stopped. Now, she NEVER wants to be petted unless she is sleepy, and I can't EVER kiss her (she HATES it). I have a 1 year old Bombay male (neutered) cat whom she has bonded with. I'm only the food person. Before I bought a Bengal, I read up on them and I know I read they are extremely affectionate to their owners. I guess 'affection' comes in different ways....... loud purrs when she wakes me up at 5 a.m. every morning, jumping in the litter box every time I attempt to clean it, climbing up my leg for her food......not letting me fold laundry, ever. I see such a huge difference in the behaviour between Sheena and Ripley (my Bombay). The wild blood is so evident, even though it goes back 6 generations. The sounds that come out of her! The antics that resemble a hyena, when her back is all arched up and she jumps sideways! We do enjoy her very much...I just wish she'd let me love her more :-( And what is this thing with raising her butt to my other cat's face while he licks her?? sorry to be so graphic..my husband hasn't seen this yet and I'm not looking forward to it! This is a behaviour I haven't witnessed in other cats and I've had cats all my life. Anyone?

When I pick Grace up, she lets out i high pitched siren noise. I kiss her and put her back down, but I know it is some sort of warning to me. She is only affectionate towards me when I am lying down. Her sister Blondie is always up for cuddles and prances around with her tail in a question mark shape. She just wants to play all day. She turns everything into a game. Her eyes are always open wide and full of love. Grace is very serious and narrows her eyes and runs with her tail down very fast.
