My little girl goes in for her spaying tomorrow. And like any anxious mother, I am so nervous for her. Any words of wisdom, anything that you think is helpful in the healing process to make sure she is as comfortable as possible?? any and all comments are welcome!

Thanks!

I think the biggest stuff to know and ask questions about is about the recovery. A vet that does the stitching such that you don't have to come back and have them taken out is obviously doing you a huge favor. Push for that if you can. Also having to wear a cone after surgery really sucks for your cat. Try to negotiate so that your cat doesn't have to do that  The other thing that they are probably going to tell you is that your cat can't do any running/jumping for a couple weeks after surgery. So that's something to ponder how you are going to handle that. Some people cage their cats for that period. I kept mine in a bedroom where there were limited jumping/running opportunities, but I guess in hindsight, some might consider that a bit reckless. It worked out ok though

Oh, and one other thing to watch out for is I guess it is common to have a big-time case of the "zooms" right when your cat comes home. Something about the anesthesia wearing off or some such.

I'm sure your little girl will do fine. Try to make sure she takes it easy for the first week and does not bite at the stitches! The vet should give you adequate instructions and answer any questions you have.
