Well, we had planned to pick up a girl kitten later this week, but suddenly, a boy kitten was also available (same breeder, but a different litter). The boy is about 16 weeks old, and the girl will be 14 weeks old when we pick her up (after her surgery). Since the boy is available now (he had his surgery already), we will pick her up tonight! We will still get the girl later this week. We have a wonderful breeder and everything has been going well.

Luckily, our house was already ready for the girl, so the safe room and toys are all set. We decided to go with two kittens after reading on this forum about how they will interact and play with each other and keep each other company when we are out. We have not had cats before this, so we are hoping we are not in over our head! However, we feel we can give them a good home, and are certainly looking forward to them.

I know they may fight and hiss a little at each other for the first few days, but we hope they will become close friends after that.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated!

Wow, how exciting for you. Definitely let us know how it goes. You may or may not have hissing or hostilities as kittens. If the kittens are both relatively well socialized to other cats at the breeders, it might be good to go from the very start. The only challenge might be distinguishing between hostility and play. Bengals play rough! So often times they are not actually that easy to distinguish. Get ready to do a lot of wincing when they play

How great that you're getting two of them -- boy and girl! I hope they love each other like siblings. My advice is to be patient with the introduction -- don't expect too much in the beginning. That way if it goes swimmingly, you'll be on cloud 9. Can't wait to see pictures of them both snuggling up to each other. Congratulations!

Well, we have the boy now. His name is Sherlock. Because he was from an earlier litter, we were able to take him home immediately. We pick up his roommate (Dori) on Wednesday, the day after her surgery.

Sherlock is so mellow and calm, the complete opposite of what we have seen from Dori at the breeder's house. Although he is two weeks older and bigger, I'm pretty sure Dori will be more outgoing and in charge.

He took to the safe room well, and is very well adjusted. Eating and drinking right away.
