Door training is not going at all. LoL. Right now I can get them away from the door since I bought a laser pointer that they can't resist chasing. When I come home after a long day they are almost never by the door.

Pepper has gotten out twice, but I just shut the door and walked to her quietly and picked her up. Jarvis hasn't gotten out but has gotten close. Now when I enter if I know they're near the door I giggle the laser pointer on the floor and it distracts them to where they don't run out. I do need to get around to training them properly. They are so cute and are adjusting well still. They seem to grow a little more every day now! We even survived changing the living room carpet out one week.

Oh the laser pointer distraction is a good idea. I also like the idea of training at the door.
We will have the out-the-door challenge when we get our little one in January. So happy to read the challenges and suggestions.

Good news. After reinforcing for several weeks the "stay" command, Pepper now sits by the door and waits. A couple of times she's tried to get out as I'm leaving but now I'm a lot less fearful of her sneaking out when I arrive, which seemed to be the bigger threat. I put her on the armrest of the couch by the living room door and told her to stay. Jarvis follows suit.
