Does your cat touch your face?

Kai LOVES to touch my face gently. I don't know why he does this.

He wakes me up at five am...not to loud meowing or craziness...but by sitting on my chest and lightly touching my cheeks...sometimes with both paws. He just pats my face until I wake up.

Any idea why cats do this? I know Kai is not the only cat to enjoy touching his human's face :rolleyes:

My Siamese did that all the time, and one of our moggies does it too. No clue why, but it's very sweet.

Aww, Kai sleeps in your arms. Mine won't let me hold him that way. He will head butt my face, but I don't think his paws have ever touched my face. Your video is just so precious!

I think it's really cute that he does that. I'm on day 3 of being a bengal parent. I'm loving it.

Yes, this happened to me for the first time last night!!

It was about 2am and Zuki jumped onto the bed and was sitting on top of it, gently tapping my nose haha

My girl Indiya likes to grab our attention by touching us too . she likes to do that especially when we are in the middle of conversation )) as if she wants to add something to it .. lol

Awe, that's so sweet! He's communicating with you. One of my kitties likes to sleep with the side of her face pressed against the back of my hand and her paws around my wrist. My last cat slept like that too.

Ada does - when she's jumped up on my lap and given a good padding she'll move to padding my chest and will occasionally put a paw out and touch my mouth/nose. This often happens when she's decided that whether I want one or not I am getting a good cleaning. She'll then lick my nose/forehead/eyebrows or sometimes an ear.

I just wish I could talk Cat and ask her to put her claws away when she does put her paw on my mouth.

Raiden never touches my face. I have had cats who did and one who loved to lick my face as he had his paws on my shoulders.

Oscar only touches my face with his paws when he is pushing me away! I sometimes can't help kissing the poor cat when he is not in the mood and he just pushes my face away! Ungrateful little wretch :rolleyes:

I have seen my two though when they think I've fallen asleep on the sofa, they start to creep up on me! Fortunately, I'm a light sleeper and they are pretty heavy footed. I've peered through my eyelashes and I don't think there would be a gentle touching my face, more a full on jump because they think that would be funny!
