Hi to all,

Im really concerned about Tia, last night she used her litter box, it was unusually smelly and a little loose, i cleaned the box and put in fresh litter,
as soon as i put the tray back Tia went again, this time it was as runny as water ( this was at about 12.30 last night).

My daughter woke me this morning very upset ,as Tia had been sick on her carpet, i cleaned this up, went down stairs to find Tia and found that she had been sick in the hall, and all over the kitchen floor, from looking at it i would say that she had'nt even digested her dinner from last night.

I called Tia but she never came, i found her under our bed curled up in a tight ball, and she has'nt come out once today, ive phoned the vets and will be takeing her at 7pm this evening, we cant understand what could have made her so ill, Diego seems fine, and he has eaten his breakfast as normal this morning, but im also concerned that with both of them sharing litter trays etc.. that Diego may also end up unwell.

__________
Nikki

Hi Nikki - really sorry to hear Tia is unwell. One of the biggest dangers with cats vomiting and having the runs is dehydration so you are absolutely doing the right thing in taking her to the vets. I'd try to encourage her to drink plenty of water between now and then (easier said than done!).

Not sure about Diego, I guess it depends on whether Tia just has an upset stomach or some sort of bug. Hopefully the vet can advise tonight. In the meantime may be best to keep seperate dishes out? Can anyone else advise on this?

Please let me know how you get on.

Linda x

We've been to the vets, he has given Tia a thorough check up, she has had to have an antibiotic injection, and i have to give her drinks of Glutalyte, to keep her hydrated, he was concerned at how burnt Tia's throat is, and we have to take her back to see him at 5.30pm tommorow, so we wont know any more until tommorow.

Hi Linda,

we went back to the vets this evening, and he checked Tia over again, he was really pleased at how well her tum had settled down(although trying to
give her, her medicine in a syringe was not easy).

she has had another antibiotic injection, and been given a course of tablet
antibiotics that will last 5 days.
we have to keep her off her normal food until her tum(and bum) return to
normal, feeding her white fish in the mean time.

She is still very much under the weather, but much better than yesterday,as
she spent most of yesterday under our bed in a ridged ball howling in pain.

Thank you for your kind P.M.

all the very best

So glad to hear that Tia is doing better. Hopefully she will be back to her usual self and playing with her new best friend Diego very soon. :D

Excellent news Nikki. I've asked the question on another thread relating to white fish.
