Hi, there! I live in Sydney, Australia, and I have been having trouble finding really good quality cat products in my area and online. I was wondering if anyone knows of either an Australia-based company or even an overseas company that ships to Australia? Specifically I am looking for things like Cat Trees, Cat Wheels, Specialised Toys and Harnesses and the like. The selection of products I can find are poor at best - I was hoping someone might be able to recommend a company or website that I can use? Thank you!

I'm also in Sydney and spent the last six months buying stuff, almost all online. After a bit of searching around I used:

RSPCA Worldforpets.com.au - great kickers and a bed/carrier I really like (and so do the cats....)

Da Bird wands and attachments - I used ebay and ordered the results to be by lowest price + postage. The first time, it came from the US - I had concerns customs would stop it due to restrictions on importing animal products (feathers). But it came through fine. I have since re-ordered replacement attachments, which also were delivered. And when I needed a second wand, the lowest price ordering brought up an Australian supplier for the first time. Can't remember the name of the ebay shop, but if you do the same search you should get it - reasonable price and it arrived the next day. Brilliant!

Royal Canin Kitten wet & dry - this was our breeder's reccomendation but the nearest shop that stocked it was 30 minutes drive away. I found it cheaper - including delivery charges - from stefmar.com.au. They also do Breeder's Choice litter cheaper including delivery - so simple, delivery within 2-3 days.

Cat Wheel - I wasn't certain I'd get one but I did search for this and I'm fairly sure there are no Aussie suppliers. Shipping from overseas would be prohibitive. There is a youtube video on how to build your own - if you are handy or know someone who is......

Harness and lead - don't need them as ours go outside. I see the H kind are on the RSPCA website - but also notice others here recommending jacket-types. That shouldn't be too expensive to get posted over from the US.

Good luck - I enjoyed the shopping especially when I was impatiently waiting for our two kittens to reach 12 weeks old. My husband described me as looking at Bengal porn - AGAIN! It sure paid off with finding cheaper online suppliers though, especially the food.

I buy all my stuff online, including cat trees.

Ebay is good for cat trees - get something solid. The taller the better for bengals, they love to climb! There's heaps on there, just make sure it looks sturdy. Alex jumps so hard onto his I'm sure he'll go through the window some day

Most of mine came from online stores. I'm in NSW and the pet stores I've been to mainly cater for dogs.

I love RSPCA world for pets. I've bought bowls, clicker, grooming products and a cowboys towel (my fiancé insisted!) and shipping was very prompt! I found they had a great range. And I will definitely use them again! The only thing I have found is that I haven't received any response to my product enquiries, in the end I had to call.

I bought a cat tree from eBay. For the height (1.9 metres) it was by far cheapest (including postage) and height was the main focus for us. (We don't get our bengal boy for another 8 days, so the basics are the main focus now). Those shopping online sites that allow you to compare a range of products from different sites were great because they showed a range of cat trees from various companies and sellers so you could compare features and prices on the same page.

I also bought bedding, collar and harness and ID tag on eBay simply because of his size and the knowledge that he will grow to be a big boy and we will have to replace them - so we didn't want to be spending a great deal in that area.

For litter tray and some toys we just checked out the cheaper stores (Kmart, Sam's warehouse etc) and we found a cat tunnel as well!

Because we had to buy everything (I haven't owned a cat in years) we did look around to ensure we didn't spend more than necessary - we're fully expecting additional purchases once the little guy is home and we get a better idea of his needs... And wants!

I'd love to get a jacket/harness for my kitten but I'm worried about him growing out of it so soon. Does anyone have one and how did they find the fit over a long period of time?

I also cane across a Victorian bengal breeder that sold cat wheels - but I have yet to check it out
