I found miss Bellatrix at the local humane society. The file that they had on her said that a breeder had brought her in. They said that they seemed to be very irresponsible. They also said that the breeder had too many animals. Bellatrix was a year old and pregnant when the humane society received her. They said that all the kittens were Bengals as well, but none of them survived :(

I have read many other people's posts asking if their cat is a Bengal or not. I realize that I would need papers to prove that she really is. She has a lot of the traits that I have read about and I have had several cats growing up, but I have never had one quite like her. No matter what I love her.

Looks like a bengal tummy to me! She's also got a similar nose to my Djole who is a naughty bengal boy!

I would guess, seeing as they said a breeder brought her in, that she is a bengal. She looks like it. Not all breeders care and take care of their animals and sometimes rescues have to go in and take them. Her belly looks like a bengal

I have no idea but good job on rescuing her!

Please can we explode the myth that only Bengals have spotty tummies and that any cat with a spotty tummy must be a Bengal. It is untrue.

A spotted tummy is a tabby characteristic and has nothing to do with whether the cat is a Bengal or not.
AND tabby characteristics include black feet and black tail tips as well, neither of which are indicative of the cat being a Bengal.

Rosetted coats and true mica glitter are the only characteristics that are not seen in other pedigree breeds or moggies and that can point to some Bengal ancestry.

I like the name too... evil witch from Harry Potter... excellent, I love it. Gosh what a find, to find a bengal at the humane society! You are very fortunate.

Thanks for the comments everyone! When I first got her she was terrified. I set up a room for her and just left her alone until she was ready to come out and explore. She didn't want me to be by her at all so I didn't want to push it. About a week later she decided that I just might be ok. She crawled into bed with me and from then on is always either on my lap or following me around talking away. I make jewelry on the side and one of her favorite things is to sit on the stool next to me and watch everything I do! If she is not in site.. I know she is being mischievous.

One thing I have learned. DO NOT LEAVE PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS ANYWHERE!!! During the holidays I went shopping for gifts. In one bag was a North Face sweatshirt for my brother and I had 3 more bags all full of brand new towels from Macy's. Well I put those bags on the kitchen table and left to go to work. I came home that night to find ALL the bags ripped to shreds and all contents of each bag demolished. I was in shock!. I looked at the remains of all my purchases and then looked at her. She just kinda quietly backed away. She knew it was wrong. I couldn't be too mad because I'm the dummy that left it out!

I definitely think your kitty is a bengal. Looks like my Raiden, who also loves plastic bags (and I have to keep them all hidden away from him, but he still manages to find them). Congratulations and thanks for rescuing this gorgeous kitty cat.
