That's great news. Our two have the exact same cat tree and they love it. They are now too big to share the hammock at the side - so we are putting up two larger hammocks for them. And the toy at the very top is long gone. Oh well, that was fun! They still love to hang out there, and scratch away for ages.

A note of caution on the little bell like thing at the bottom. My two kept flipping the round plywood piece over to the side, exposing the string ends which you tighten to supposedly keep it in place. I saw them play with it and get get caught up within it. I thought it was a strangulation risk, so we cut the string and pulled it out. Once they got to about 4 months old, they stopped bothering with things at the bottom of the tree anyway. Highest is best!

Nice tree. I'm sure that will get a ton of use. I have a bunch of trees for mine, but none of them have a hammock. It looks comfortable. One thing I wonder about that design is how a cat is supposed to get down from that high triangular perch. There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to jump down from there. You might need to do some creative room-re-arranging to accommodate that.

Thanks , Yeah i might have to actually! at the moment, she seems to old the back scratching pole and flip down to the other level. But i need to do something a little safer i think

I also may pull it out and make sure the little hammock is stable enough. I might get another little post for in the lounge room at a later date

Like everyone has said, direct them toward acceptable items to scratch. I tell mine no and then take them over to the scratching post. I find if I scratch on it myself they are all over it in no time.

Awe, what kind of harm could that little angel cause?? The first month I had my kittens was a shock. They clawed everything including me as they climbed up my body continuously. They have settled down considerably, but I take them to the vet once a month to have their nails trimmed and filed smooth. They allow the vet to do it no problem, but not me. That's okay, it takes a few minutes and costs $20 for the two of them. It's well worth it and they can still run and climb like nothing I have ever seen.
