Our two 12 week olds (now nearly 13 weeks!) love the cat tree we have, which has one cradle. It has a fixed ring, and fabric sewn through that, unlike a hammock which swings free. It is 30cm in diameter. It is a great hit - they cuddled there together the first 2 nights when the world seemed scary. Now only one kitten will really fit in. They might start there together, but once they want to turn over or whatever, one leaves and goes on the shelf below :(

This tree is really destined for the living room, we only have it in the main bedroom as this is their safe room, and there isn't enough room to leave it there forever. As they love it so much, we thought of creating a bedroom tree with two cradles in it. I can't buy one like that but my husband is handy, so I can buy a small one with 2 cradles and he can construct another tree.

But - here's my question - I suspect they will grow out of it anyway. So how big should a sleeping cradle or hammock be to accommodate an adult bengal? I figure if we are going to rig something up, we may as well future-proof it. Any advice would be much appreciated. We live in Sydney, Australia, and I can't find anything obvious to buy that fits the bill.

Benji has one of these metal ring hammocks as part of his tree and it is 35cm diameter so I think yours will be ok for quite a while!

For your bedroom you could consider wall mounted hammocks like these?

hmm if you cats are like mine then they will try and snuggle together forever - but occasionally, when no-one is looking, providing neither of them fidget!

I brought my two radiator beds - they hook over radiators - in fact, I have mine hooked over the banisters to my stairs - I have two beds, they use one.... they lay across it - to be honest, they will fit in whatever they like and when you think you might have cracked it and got the right size they lay looking all uncomfortable with various body parts hanging over the sides.
I do think that that they prefer to be all squished and cuddly rather than spread themselves out - maybe its a warmth thing - all I know is that when partner is away i let them sleep in my room, and they take up the whole king size bed.

The cutest video ever is of cats trying to wiggle into small, tight spaces. They do manage to fit in to where they want to fit. I wonder if the largest cat tree ever has multiple everything. I have a cat tree with a hammock and my cat has never ever once laid down in it. He uses it as a stepping stone to the top sleeper.
