Sleeping in safe room and my dog?

Purdie still goes to sleep at night in her safe room and I'm wondering if this is ok, and how long we can do this? She has only been with us for 9 days and we have a dog that I'm slowly introducing to her.

Also, now that she is confident she is really bullying our little dog if she gets the chance. I don't really know what to do. They are eating together, which is going well and our dog is very patient, but she is frightened of Purdie as she keeps running at her. There isn't any hissing or growling from Purdie and I actually think she's playing, but I'm really feeling sorry for our dog. Any opinions on this?

Lastly! Can Catnip make her start acting like she's on drugs? She had a new toy with some in yesterday and she turned into a crazy cat.

Thanks Elaine. I will be losing the new toy right away!

I have been stopping Purdie by kind of shooing her away and letting my dog sit with me. It is really difficult as like you say I don't want Purdie to be frightened of our dog either. I will continue doing what I am doing and hope that Purdie starts to understand that she cannot "play" like that.

I love it when cats and dogs become the best of friends. Good luck. Catnip doesn't do much for my kitty.

About half of cats are affected by cat nip to varying degrees.

Just wondered how Purdie and your dog are getting on now? Any progress with curbing the play with the dog?

Hopefully once your second kitten arrives it will give Purdie another play outlet as well :)

Mine both have catnip and valerian toys from Happy House Cats and i've never really thought that it makes their behaviour unmanageable or over the top so i think its perfectly fine now and again.

Bengal kittens can be a little overbearing during play for other animals so i'm glad to hear they seem to have a little more understanding of each other now! Gosh only 5 weeks?! Time is flying!!

Are you still deciding between Teddy or Monty or do you have some other ideas now?

p.s. I am still incredibly jealous that you are getting one of Lollo's kittens!!!

What???????? You are getting one of lollo's kittens?? Wow, I am incredibly jealous too!!! First you come on with one of the best looking bengals I've seen in a while and now one of my babies too :wink:

which Tonk are you getting? All of the are INCREDIBLE so which ever one I know he will be stunning!!!!!!

I just had to look back at lollo's site and man oh man!!! Those babies are toooooo cute and they are getting so big!! I love all of them and unlike Bengal kittens they all look so different and each has their own cute little expression!! If I could I would fly out I get one :sad:

You will have your hands full but it is a MUST you post tons of pics of both of them!! :exclaim:
