My year old cat keeps getting these coughing attaches, and from the looks of it, it scares her almost. She wheezes like it might be a hairball, she is my first cat, so I am not sure. Also, when we turn on the sink, she likes to drink from it, which the coughing usually happens right when she is done drinking it. Could it be triggered by too much air entering her? Can I stop it? It scares me and her...so please help.

Hi there, personally if my cat was coughing on a regular basis I would take her to the vet to get her checked out. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious but I think it is definitely something that needs to be discussed with a vet.

My Lilly used to start coughing after drinking from the tap pretty much all the time. I did google it and found it to be quite common (drinking too fast/air). However, I also found out she had a load of allergies and since changing her food she rarely coughs now, even when drinking from the tap.
