Well, we put Sabre and Neo in the same roon for 1hr last night, and Neo was having a right old hissy fit. As the time went on he was having less of a hissing session, but it's still there. We're going to try for a bit longer each evening and see if it makes any difference.

well, it's been a little while...

We had Neo in the house for a few days, and he was responding a lot better, to the point that he and Sabre were close to each other without Neo getting aggitated.

We let Neo back out and he seemed to be better, was around the house a bit more, but basically it seems that all we've tried thus far has not done any difference.

He is coming back to the house for food, but he does not seem to be coming back to sleep here, or generally be around the house.

The only thing I can think of now is to get him back in the house and have him confined to the house for a longer period than 4 days.

Any ideas?

I would definitely confine him for longer than 3 days. When you are trying to settle a new adult cat in your home, minimum recommended period is 3 weeks. This can then be followed by short periods outdoors but on a hungry stomach and usually recommend to pick a day the weather is not good.

I know he is not a new adult in your home but I would probably try something similar to this.

Are your lovely neighbours still offering him a 'refuge' from your home?
