I am a new cat owner- I got my little girl in mid-November. I knew that pointsettas were toxic to cats. I didn't know about lilies! I found out the hard way about the dangers of Easter lilies. Apparently they cause renal failure in cats! If you suspect your cat has even nibbled a leaf, you must take them for treatment within the first 6-18 hours or death will occur.

My little girl nibbled on a leaf & I have in her in the animal hospital flushing her system with fluids as we speak!

Please google this, there is much information about this! If anyone has any kind of lily in their houses, remove it immediately!

How awful! I hope your little one pulls through ok. My Daisy has a terrible habit of nibbling all my plants. I had some lillies bought recently & has those on a higher shelf (she was too small to jump up at that stage). But now she has better jumping abilities i think i will have to give them a miss. You safe proof your home when you have children, but you have to do exactly the same thing with your cats as there are so many dangerous things around the home & garden.

Keep us updated with her progress won't you & let's hope other read your thread & take notice of this too. Google has lots of information about various plants - so get your plants checked out & if they are dangerous - simply get rid of them as it's not worth the risk or heartache.

Lilies are very bad for cats. I didn't buy an Easter Lily this year because at least two of my four tend to nibble on houseplants. I hope your girls make it. For future reference, here's a list of plants toxic to cats: http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants.html
