I am hoping it is nothing more than just a heart rhythm disorder! My lungs have been hurting though and my family doctor did a chest X-ray yesterday suspecting pneumonia and nothing was on there, other than a calcified spot on my left lung, which is disturbing being it wasn't there 3 weeks ago. I have severe seasonal allergies and I cant take any antihistamines until I find out what is going on. I am thinking that my chest cold symptoms are due to allergies. I hope !!!! I am not really sure at this point as to what I should do. I live in a small town and our doctors here are not the best. I am going to give it another month and see what I find out. If I am not happy with the results I get I will go to a larger hospital. One of the best hospitals in the states is only two hours from me, well about and hour and half. So I will go there if I have to. That is where I took my son to get his allergies situated so hopefully I will have the same luck! This is just going to be a really long month waiting to see the doctor. I know that I cant do anything about it because the test takes a month, it just seems like forever when you are the one with these terrifying symptoms! Yesterday was my oldest sons birthday(he turned 5 YAYYY!) and I honestly just prayed all day to not let me pass on his birthday! I am worried for my kids and that is causing anxiety and I know it is not helping anything, but I honestly don't know what else to do!

From my understanding no matter where I went the same test would have been ordered. I just feel like I am being brushed off because I am only 27 and not many people my age are in to see a heart doctor. Every one that was there when I was were at least in their 70's and I feel like the staff, doctors included, look at me like I am crazy. Even though these episodes have been documented on an EKG I don't think they look at it as serious. The doctor wouldn't even give me my results and when I requested them they said I had to make an appointment. So I made the appointment and paid my co payment. After sitting there for two and half hours the nurse came in and told me he would call me later. So 48 hours go by and I still haven't heard from them and then called, the nurse finally came to the phone and told me everything looked ok. I still have not been told what is causing my symptoms, they just seem to be satisfied with the meds that they have me on because it has regulated my heart beat. BUT....... what has caused these problems is beyond me! I don't really know how things like this work as I have never been through anything like this but I do not feel comfortable where I am now! We have emptied our saving through this and even spent most of our vacation money that we have been saving for three years now! I don't know what else I can do other than apply for financial assistance with the larger hospital!

Hope you are getting sorted out by now and feeling a bit better. When you first were told rhumatic fever I was going to say I had it many years ago, but that's no help now.
Still wishing you well. Thank goodness we have NHS here, and don't have to consider money as well as the best treatment.

OK well I went to the doctor yesterday and everything came back that I have a heart rhythm disorder also known as an arrhythmia! I have to continue on one of the medications I am on and discontinue the other! Thankfully the medicine I was prescribed at the emergency room is the medicine I need to treat the disorder. NOW....... my doctor is wanting me to undergo pulmonary testing because my stress test indicated I have a drop of oxygen greater than what he would like to see. I also have to have a "sleep study" done because the monitor showed throughout the night my heart rate would rise when I was asleep. This could be due to my oxygen being cut off , so they are thinking sleep apnea! Oh boy!!! This is really a mess! I guess it is better than heart failure, which is what I was worried about or something along those lines! I don't know much about sleep apnea so I have been researching it over the last day and it sounds a little scary! Good news is I have been referred to the "Big" hospital for further testing so will get the best of care! So I wait until July 2 and have the pulmonary testing done! Following those results I will be seeing a pulmonologist to set up the sleep study!

Do you happen to know the name of what arrhythmia it is? There are several. My brother has atrial fibrillation which is his atrium beats extra. He has some medication and is going in for cardio version next week where they shock the heart back into its correct rhythm.

Looked after many patients with a whole variety of heart issues but they were all less than 12 months. Principles still apply though.

Hope you get the sleep study done quickly. Did they actual test you oxygen saturation a overnight before?

All I know is he referred to the abnormal beat as premature ventricular contraction(?) as well as tachycardia. I don't think those are as serious as atrial fibrillation! The thing that peaked his interest in sleep apnea was my heart beat got above 120 on several occasions with me sleeping and at one point was up to 168 while asleep! But all he told me was anything over 100 was tachy! I told my Primary Dr that my heart beats fast when I sleep and wakes me up sometimes. I also experience shortness of breath and I feel like my body "forgets", for lack of a better term, to breath. He told me is was because I am 30 pounds over weight and need to take the weight off! I have since lost 15 pounds and it has not got any better. So now he thinks I am having anxiety attacks while I am asleep? Is that even possible? So this prompted me to talk to the cardiologist about it! To answer your question, no, I have never had my O2 sat measured while I am asleep! I have of course while awake and it is normal, even with severe shortness of breath!

Hey!!!

Im so glad that you finally got at least SOME answers............. even if you arent too sure what they are, or mean!!
I dont know much about hearts, or breathing, other than i have one and do the other!!! (sorry............ just trying to lighten the mood a bit!)

I hope the medication that you remain on helps, and that the new specialist and te sleep study can fill in the gaps and finally put your mind at rest!!

Ive been thinking about youwhilst ive been at work today.............

Thanks Lori!!! It really means a lot that you have thought about all my non sense health issues! I am actually feeling tons better and I can actually breath now! I am not sure if it was just side effects from the other medicine I was on that was causing more problems or if it could possibly be allergens have dropped in our area! I will feel really stupid if all of these breathing problems are down to allergies! It really worries me because my son is "supposed" to be very allergic to cats! So now the thought has entered my mind that maybe I am allergic as well! I know I am to a certain extent but I have never had breathing problems! I don't really know what to think! I see a pulmonolgist on the 2nd and he is going to set me up with a blood allergen test rather than the old fashion scratch test! Keep your fingers crossed for me please  thanks again Lori you have been a real friend through this mess!

Hello Lori! I am doing very well! Thank you for asking and caring! Its nice to have someone so far away that feels like a true friend! I have actually been pulled in every direction possible the last couple of weeks! I don't have time to worry about my health, which is a good thing!

I do have my appointment tomorrow and yes I am a little nervous but I am feeling better so I am not expecting anything major to come of it! I have to be at the hospital first thing in the morning, and then follow up with the doctor in the afternoon! Keeping my fingers crossed all goes well! I am actually more concerned with my husband having the kids all day  he is not used to caring for all four of them all day! It will be interesting to see how that pans out

BB and Jasper are better than ever! They actually sleep together all night now, well after they run through the house like loons! They groom each other now which is really funny! I am not sure if it is true, but I have always heard the "dominant" cat does the grooming. Well BB and Jasper have to lick each other at the same time so I don't know who the dominant one is! It is rather funny tho because they are wrapped up in each other and both are licking like crazy as if they are trying to out do one another!

I had a feeling your two would start to get rowdy around this time, I would actually expect Seajin to start getting a little annoyed with Shay soon! When kittens go through those "teenage" months they let EVERYONE know their hormones are raging  BB was WILD from about 4-7 months and started to calm down after that! Hang in there you are in for a ride and TONS of entertainment and laughter! OH BTW I would love to see more pictures of your babies! I have yet to get enough of Shay  I bet he is already changing and growing! I was going to ask to how is Seajin doing with your hubby? Does she have him fully wrapped around her paw yet or has she bonded with you more? Just curious as Jasper has changed his mind about "his" human! He was my boy to start, then he wanted my husband, now he is back to Mama's boy again! He even jumps in my arms for love! Melts my heart

Hello hello! I have actually had the same thing going on with my kids! I have not just one starting back to school but my two 5 year olds will be going this year  they are growing up! Anyways my son was bullied in preschool last year and it drove me INSANE!!! The teachers wouldn't do anything about it and one day he came home with a black eye from the little boy hitting him! My husband finally had enough and told him to take up for himself! We don't encourage violence but he was getting hurt everyday! He eventually elbowed the little boy and after that they became friends  it certainly had my blood boiling!!!!!!

We are also going on vacation and trying to plan all of that! We were supposed to go this week but since I had to have testing we are going next week! On top of all of that we might be moving. We were planning to build a house on family land before my two year old starts school so we thought it would be a few years, now my husbands grandmother is wanting to move from her house since her husband passed away so we might take over things for her there. At this point now we are unsure as to what to do, we would have to basically redo the entire flooring, paint and do major cleaning! She has two cats that my son is very allergic to so we would have to remove all allergens before we could move! So...... Who knows what we will do! Her cats all also older (8 and 17) and she is afraid a move will stress them to much!

As far as my testing I am finally relieved to have a diagnosis! I have adult asthma, which is not as bad as what I thought it would be! I just have meds that I have to take and I should be ok! At this point he doesn't think it's a case where i can have life threatening attacks! But good news is he thinks my cardiac issues are causes by the asthma so maybe, eventually, I can get off if those meds! I am honestly just relieved to finally have this over with!!!
