So here's the situation, i live in an apartment with a fairly terrible mid 80s looking wall mounted A/C unit. Most of the time i never even consider using it, because at half power you can barely tell that anything is cooling down. Normally this is no big deal because my "little" lynx point siamese is generally content regardless of the weather.
However, this week my area is experiencing a pretty awful heat wave. Yesterday it was 115 F for most of the day and stepping outside felt like walking into an oven. I left my cat with two fans running and his usual giant drinking fountain and it didnt seem worse than 90ish in the place. He did not do well for the day.
I came home and he was exhausted from the heat and panting. Today he faired a bit better, for half the day he visited my parents house w/ central air, and when it cooled down from the high of 109 F, i brought him home and closed off a room so the fans would a smaller area to cool and put down a second watering dish.
This won't really be an option tomorrow. He played a little too rough with my parent's cats and started lightly growling and tried to play fight with everyone(people included). Plus he gets too excited to eat or drink, which just sort of adds to the problem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
