This is insane. I've heard of people loving their pets, but this is just nuts.

Over the past 20 years, Greg has spent $10,000 to turn the house into a "kitty playland," complete with 300 feet of cat walkways, 38 hand carved cat openings, and dozens of platforms. The bedroom even features a "private, rustic hideaway" in case the cats want some alone time, and a custom, mini kitty sized staircase.

Amazingly, the cats can travel through the entire house without touching the floor, and if for some reason they ever want to leave, there's even an outdoor cat enclosure for them to enjoy!

$10 000 is actually not a lot to spend on a hobby over 20 years, that is just $500 a year, and some will spend almost that on one golf club alone.

So why is it insane?

It's crazy, but it's neat at the same time. I don't judge the person for doing it. Each is own.

lol i don't think 500 usd per year is a lot. I am sure i spend more per year on my cats on other than food expenses.

I dont think its crazy, why is it crazy?! Just making a nice home for her & the kids, I buy cat trees toys all other stuff costs me well over £500 a year!! Well well over!!

I want a entire room for the cats, I have designed wall things to go round the house, ohhh and garden when its enclosed and flowers to plant, the entire house will be for the cats! And why not!?

I don't mean crazy in a bad way. I just mean that it's quite impressive ?

I saw something about that on TV. Those were some happy-looking kitty cats! That's really neat!

I would be afraid that if one of them was sick or hurt they would find a little nook up super high to hide. Assuming I figured out that something was wrong, I would need a ladder and who knows what else to get them down...

I think that is awesome! I would do it in a heart beat if I had 10,000 to blow! I agree 500 is not a lot in a years time! I have figured it out that everytime I go grocery shopping(weekly) I spend at least 20 on stuff for the cats. I have bought 4 cat trees since having BB(one year) and numerous beds and scratching objects for her. Now that has almost doubled since getting Jasper! I guess I never really thought about how much of a crazy cat lady I am! :wacko2:

 lol

It's ok though, I'm sure to most people it would seem crazy or nuts, but I think many of us on this forum will just think it's awesome.

If I had the money/time/patience to build elaborate things like that for my cats, I would love to! Of course I would also figure out a way to do it that's more hidden and not the central focus of my house though, lol.
