Ok, so we've got our 'blue slips' from the breeder of our 2 beautiful Bengal furbabies (only took 10 months of us nagging! ) one they sent via email and the other by post! The problem is that I'm not really sure what to do with them? I've looked through the TICA website and find it all a bit confusing :( could anyone shed any light on this for me please ? ;-)
Thank you in advance :-)

Sorry i can't help with exactly what to do with them but congrats on getting them. I've been nagging about a year and still not got mine!! I know that you have to send them off to register your kittys and i think you have to pay but could be wrong!! Hopefully someone who knows will come along soon :-)

Its only really worth sending them off if you are planning on showing your babies and to do this the Breeder needs to have left the box that says "not for showing" blank

If you do want to show them you have to complete the forms and send them off to Tica (In the USA)
there is a small fee to pay as well

 Thank you for your replies
We're not going to be showing them, but, we paid for pedigree cats and without the paperwork there just cats, it's the principle of it. When we bought them we bought them as pets and if you have a pedigree I've always believed you should have the paperwork to go with them whatever your going to 'do' with them!

Maybe we went to the same breeder Jamie!

I don't agree that the only reason to send them off is so that you can show.

To me it is like their birth certificate, or part if it.

Not sure what the process with TICA is as I use GCCF. With them the breeder signs the back and the new owner pops their name and address plus signs and sends the thing back to GCCF with a fee (currently £12, I think). Sit back and wait.... I advise to scan or copy the form before sending it off.

I think TICA charge about $20 but I may be wrong. Have you checked the TICA site?

Ok first question - are they registered straight into your name or in the breeders name still?

If in yours you need not do anything - file them away.

If in the breeders name the rear of the slip should be signed by the breeder - that is the transfer of ownership section. Fill it out, scan in it and email it over to TICA - all details on how to do this are on their website Lollo has linked.
If the forms aren't sign - they should be - otherwise you cannot put the cats into your name.

Thanks Claire... I am not familiar with TICA.

After checking online with GCCF and find that i still 'own' all the kittens i've bred so far  I am going to start signing the GCCF slip and getting the new owners to complete their section when they collect their baby. I will then send them off myself to GCCF (or do it online as you can now i think). I will factor the £12 into my costings or absorb it  somehow.

My Bengals have always been registered in my name and on the Tica slip, I sent Teekos of because we showed him a couple of times but have just filed the others with the Pedigrees etc
