Hi again, Linda,
I'm not a "chemist" and I'm VERY leery of cleaning products, becuase kittens, in general, Bengals in particular -- and EG kittens and cats even MORE so -- have to SMELL and/or TASTE anything and everything.
I use several cleaning products around my home, but I treat ALL of them as if they are POISON. I don't like to take chances with my cats' health.
My "rule" is:
If it's WET and they step in it, they are going to lick it off their feet, no matter HOW bad it tastes. If it has a strong smell, they are going to TASTE it -- just BECAUSE. (sigh)
So LOCK THEM OUT of a room where you are using cleaning products until the surfaces you have cleaned are, rinsed and once again, DRY.
I use Bleach; Citrus oil cleaners; Lysol; Windex and Murphy's Oil Soap, for wood; based on the surfaces I'm cleaning.
I am VERY careful to NOT allow my cats to "help or hamper" the cleaning process, by shutting the door, of the room I'm cleaning.
Sometimes there is a LOT of protesting from the other side of the door, but it only encourages me to not prolong the cleaning process any longer than necessary to do the job.
Same for mopping tile floors. They are LOCKED OUT of the room, till the floor dries.
So far, it doesn't seem to matter what cleaning products I use, as long as I make sure the surfaces are DRY before I allow the cats back into the room.
My biggest problem is CARPET. I do use a steam cleaner, fairly frequently, and use allergen reducing carpet cleaning products for the machine. They aren't too fond of the NOISE that machine makes, so I try to do the rooms in "quarters" and RINSE, RINSE, RINSE with NO PRODUCT in the rinse water; before I go to the next section of the room.
I don't like "damp" carpet, so I usually go behind the rinse with a wet vac, and get as much of the water out of the carpet and pad as I possibly can.
For SPOT cleaning, I use hydrogen peroxide and soda, or Oxy-Clean and try to blot up as much moisture as possible, while I am over-seeing the area I've just cleaned.
Maybe someone with more knowledge of chemicals can be of more assistance. Hope this helps a little.
