Had Lubo home a couple of days now - he is so vocal and I'm not sure if there is something wrong as it starts of fairly quiet and gets louder and louder as he walks around the house - I've noticed he hates any door shut but my Moggie has taken the hump and has been hissing and spitting when she gets sight of him through the glass doors never mind in the same room. He just seems really annoyed :( - any clues or advice for a novice? Thanks in advance

Bless him....he's just missing his littermates! :(

He'll be feeling a bit lost without them, just give him plenty of cuddles and somewhere he feels safe to run off to in case things get a little too much for the little guy......maybe somewhere upstairs thats nice and quiet.

We always advise new owners to isolate the kitten in a bedroom with food/water bowls and litter until the kitten feels it wants to adventure out of its own free will.....this way they realise the bedroom is safe ground almost straight away.

He just needs time to find his feet and figure out the pecking order.

Expect the madness to come out in him 7-14 days after he first arrives home!

We put special hand crocheted woolen blankets(one for each baby) in with our kittens beds about 2-3 weeks before they leave, they act as a kind of security blanket just to help them adjust easier to their new home.....maybe an idea to help your second kitty feel more at ease.

Thanks meemonkey,

We do have a room for him but to be honest when he's not feeling sleepy he wants out!!!! But then he gets out and he's a noisy little man. :? He does seem a wee bit calmer today (fingers crossed) but I'll await the 7-14 day madness!

Should I make him stay in his room? Does not seem fair to when he is really into exploring. Think you are right about his litter mates. I did get a blanket with him but it was new and not used in his basket/bed at the breeders so I'll ask her if she can do as you suggested for wee Lenny (Lennon).
