Hi Nikki,
I've just been going through what you will go through in a few months. My bengal female is 14 months old. I also have a 13 year old non-pedigree cat (also female). My new bengal kitten arrived two weeks ago
her arrival was delayed becuase my adult bengal was unwell (cystitis and constipation) and is still under investigation. However, despite my doubts my little girl (Rose) has coped wonderfully. She got hissed at by 2 cats for about 5 days
I have a large kittening cage, (3ft by 2 ft in the lounge). This is her safe area for when I'm out or had to leave her unsupervised. All her things are in it, plus a cosy bed (just a small cardboard box with a blanket
. The older cat, virtually ignores Rose, but Branwen howled and hissed. However almost overnight she became a 'stepmother' and a very attentive one at that. The 2 bengals often sleep in the window sill together or in Branwen's box. Branwen comes running whenever she hears Rose cry. Its really quite touching ...... I didnt really try to get them to get along, as been very ill myself lately. I treat them both equally though.
Hope you have the same kind of luck,
Julie
