My partner has recently been offered a new job in Australia and so we will be moving there at the end of October. Having considered whether or not it would be possible to take our Bengal Dylan with us, we have decided that it would be far too stressful for him! As such, I am now starting the process of trying to find him a forever home that will love him and care for him as much as we do.

Dylan is a 3 year old male spotted snow Bengal who is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped but I don't have any papers for him. He is a playful character and loves cuddles too especially of an evening. He is our only cat and has a cat flap as he loves to be free to roam around the garden! He really enjoys human company and will always be around trying to get involved in whatever you are doing, particularly the washing up!

I am really sorry to have to find him a new home but know that it is the best thing for him. We live in Fareham in Hampshire. I would really prefer for him to go to a home that has experience with bengals or someone who has given it a lot of though and is confident that they will be able to take care of him! He really is a wonderful cat.

Looking foward to seeing his pics, I recently lost my almost 15yr old cat & for the first time in over 31yrs we find ourselfs catless we had our previous 2 sister cats for 16 & 17yrs before getting her.
I'm almost ready to replace the hole she left in my heart & it has alway been my longing to own a Bengal, I am home all day so would be able to give one day long company, I do have a 10yr old rescue lab who I would love to say would welcome it with open arms but in reality she would totally ignore it just as she does all other cats & dogs & is so submisive I cannot see us getting another cat any problem with her.

Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear about your recent loss.

We don't have any dogs at the moment but we did move back in with my mum for a couple of months and she had 4 Toy poodles who were not cat lovers!! Dylan was fine with them however so if your dog is used to cats and not boisterous I think he would be fine.

I am sympathetic with your predicament - My wife & I were considering moving to Australia ourselves a couple of years ago and wondered what we would do with our 2 Bengals.

Unfortunately 2 weeks or 2 Bengals became 1, as our 20 year old girl had developed the early onset of kidney failure and we were forced into the horrible decision of having her euthanized now to save her too much trauma in the months ahead. We are now looking for a companion for our remaining boy, Romulus, who is about 14. We do not know proper ages for either as we re-homed them both.

We have kept Bengals for the last 15 years, so have a very good understanding of how they behave, and their particular ways.

Dylan sounds like a lovely boy, especially as he is already used to going out & using a cat flap, as our cats too love exploring our garden, and the grass lands at the front of our house.

As we already have another boy, can you let me know how Dylan is around other cats and whether you think he would adapt to living a 2 cat household.

We are located in Kent, so not too far from you, and if we did re-home him, could collect most weekends or weeknights.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss!

Dylan is ok with other animals although we don't have any ourselves. he took a shine to our neighbours cat and I often found them in the garden or even the house together. There is also a little dog next door and he isn't phased by him through the gap in the fence! Obviously it would take a couple of weeks but not long in the grand scheme of things.

You're more than welcome to come and meet Dylan, we are around all this weekend or any evenings. I will PM you my number so that you can call me if you wish.

Hi, i didn't get back to you sooner because I've been trying to work out how we could get to you, its just not going to be possible though, It is a lot further than I imagined & if I came on the train it would be cruel to keep Dylan in a cat carrier all that time with no chance of letting him have a stretch or two as its almost a 9 hour journey
I do have a friend in Bognor who I have been talking to & she is willing to collect him & meet me half way with him were we able to take him but as I said to her, if it were me parting with my cat I would not be happy doing that unless I had met who was having him.
I really would like him, but I do have to agree that Jody above sounds a better bet for you
I will PM you my email address though & if you are still looking to rehome him nearer your planned move please get back in touch with me, we are not looking to get another cat for at least a month as it would be unfair to take one on & then put it in a cattery while we are on holiday early next month.
I do help fundraise in a small way for Haworth Cat Rescue in West Yorks so if I'm not lucky enough to find my longed for Bengal I will rehome one of there elderly cats instead

where do you live? I ask as I have a friend in berkshire who would like a bengal
