I have rang and spoke to the GCCF office to register my claude as I want to show him, they said the fee to join will be reduced immensely if his parents and or grandparents are already registered with the GCCF. Does anyone know how I can find out if they are, is it by thier registration numbers on the pedigree? or can you tell by the actual registration number itself they are all prefixed with SBT. Many thanks for any advice offered. Elaine & Claude

I have gone back through your posts to see where you got Claude from. I noticed that you asked how long it takes to get his pedigree through after sending off proof of neutering. Did you ever hear back from the breeder??

Firstly, a pedigree is very different from a registration. You should have been given a 4 generation pedigree when you purchased Claude. This should have the names and registration numbers of the parents as well as showing Claude's registration number. The breeder often retains the registration slip until proof of neutering.

If Claudes sire and dam’s registration is prefixed with SBT then they are registered with Tica.
Also, IF you were sent Claude’s Tica Registration number after providing proof of neutering to the breeder then GCCF will require you to get an OFFICIAL 5-generation Pedigree Certificate, (I think its 5 and not 4), from the Tica office to send to the GCCF. You would have to do this with both the sire and the dam unless they have duel registration, which your breeder will be able to tell you. I think that is all correct and if not then I’m sure a breeder on here will put me right.
Similar happened to me with Keet, his sire was registered with Tica and mother with the GCCF. It was a bit of a rigmarole and pricey but I got there in the end even if I did end up with a fancy official 5-generation Pedigree Certificate from Tica for his sire, a cat I didn’t own.

Hi
Thanks for your replies.

Yes my breeder gave me the blue slip and I have sent this off to TICA I do have a pedigree with his parents, grand parents, great grand parents and great great grand parents on. TICA have took the funds from my account and I am still waiting for his paperwork coming back from them. All in all it has taken me from January so thats not too bad at all :)

The easiest thing to do is to call the breeder, or email them and ask whether any of the parents/grandparents are GCCF registered. You can show him at TICA shows though, you already have him registered with that body. Those shows are different to GCCF ones though.
