Polyneuropathy?

Snowpoke was on prednisone as a kitten for a severe allergic reaction to a bug bite, and he suffered no real side effects from it, but he did get an eye infection since prednisone is an immunosuppressant. So that's something to watch out for, but aside from that I would say my lil guy had no problems from it and I hope it works well for Apollo too. <3

So far so good!

Friday afternoon Apollo couldn't sit up. I had to hold him in order for him to use the litter box.

Saturday morning, Apollo took about 4 steps! My husband and I almost cried. What a relief. Finally - some improvement.

Today, Tuesday, he walked an entire lap around the house. He's decided he loves eating again.

Thanks to this forum - looks like we've found the fix

I can't believe we waited a month for the neurologist to try out different treatments. That being said, I'm glad this one is working!

Great news, prednisone works very quickly on this problem as it is an inflammation of the distal nerves and pred is an anti inflammatory. Some kittens/cats can have relapses from time to time but you just pop them back on the steroids. Youngsters usually grow out of it.
