***LOTS OF PICS (sorry!)***
YAY!
Finally picked up our 2 babies yesterday... they are sooooo adorable! And have been total little angels too (which has been a pleasant surprise after hearing many stories here!). When we were putting them in the cat carrier, I rubbed a couple of drops of Bach Rescue Remedy flower essence behind their ears to help with stress. Amazingly, the whole 2 hour car trip home, we hardly heard a peep from them... I expected to be going insane by the time I got home, but only the odd little "mew" from Aya.. Samadhi was cuddling her and watching out one hole of the carrier the whole trip home (see pic), being the protective brother. Whether the rescue remedy helped, or whether they are just being good, I couldn't say, but whatever it was - I am glad!
When they got home, they ran straight into their cubby and hid their for a minute then started sniffing around and exploring their little space together, running between cubby houses.
Within a couple of hours, I put down the raw food mix I made the other day, and they LOVED it! I was worried they wouldn't eat from stress, but they seemed ok! I also added a couple of drops of rescue remedy into the drinkwell, and they had a good drink of that too.
I bought a big litter box and litter from the breeder so they knew what it was, and have both used the litter tray together, with no prob (except for Aya trying to play with Samadhi's tail as he is doing his buisiness!
They have also used their scratchers. I will post a hilarious vid of that when it uploads...
Within a few hours of being home, Samadhi was letting us pat him and was purring like mad... today he has been super cuddly too. Aya on the other hand, is quite skittish and is much more interested in playing than cuddles... in fact today she finally let me give her a good scratch and pat, but doesn't want to be picked up yet. The breeder said she was very cuddly with her, so I guess it will just take time for her to get used to us and trust us... it is only her first day with us after all!! PLUS they only got neutered/spayed 3 days ago, so I think they are both doing incredibly well all things considered!
We have been playing lots with them (well, mainly with Aya, and cuddling Samadhi!) and have already had so many laughs. At the moment they are sleeping snuggled up in their cubby together. I am SO GLAD we got 2.. they love each other and take a lot of comfort in having each other around. I am waiting for pics to upload but will post asap
Glad I listened to everyone here that encouraged us to do that... it has already proven to be rewarding for both each other and us!
