Anyone got a Litter Maid or similar?

Getting fed up with emptying a smelly tray every few hours, so something that's automated would be nice

However, read on other sites that changing the recepticle in the litter maid is actually worse than emptying a litter tray regularly!

I have a friend that had one.. His cats would sit and trigger it for fun. They burned out the motor in 3 months..

Yep, we have one of those litter locker things - they sell the refills in Pet Smart. We don't use ours anymore however, as World's best is flushable, we just do that instead....

Can I ask if you would be kind enough to note how much World's best is at the shows? We pay a fortune for it at the minute, if it's worth our while to get some from shows instead, we might as well do that and get to see some nice Bengals too

I have a basic Litter Maid.... 5 years and counting... the best $100 I ever spent in my life. I have two bengals, and unless one of them lets loose with the mother of all doodies, it rarely jams. They have used it since they were 10 weeks old (had to build them a little ramp to get in and out), and I use generic super-clumping litter ($10 for the 35 lb tub).

I can go away for a 3-day weekend and not worry. Its not excessively noisy, and other than a bit of a mess (stray litter, and occasional "jumper"), its much better than an ordinary box.

I have one of the deluxe models. I have a bengal kitten and an adult faded calico. They both use it without a problem.

Here is a tip if you are sick of buying those refill bins for it. Use a plastic bag liner like what Walmart puts your groceries in. I put those in the bin and put the bin in place so all I have to do is change the bag and not the tray. Works great.

My bengal loves it. didn't take him long to realize that was where he had to use the box. it was funny to watch him stare at the rakes.

have a second cat in the house and I tell you my roommate and I have to change the receipticals twice a week, and the entire litter once a week. my bengal is fussy about having a clean, and I mean pristeen, litter box
