She wont eat!!!

My Bengal cat wont eat anything other than cat meat.
I've had her since Thursday and since then I've tried 4 different types of cat biscuits, but she wont touch them.
She's hardly drinking either.

At her previous home she ate anything her owner gave her.
Now she only eats the 3 pouches of meat a day that I give her (I would love to feed her more of it, but I can't afford it!)

Is there anything I can do to encourage her to eat the biscuits??
Because she crys a lot because she's hungry, but she wont even try what I give her

Please help, I'm so worried about her

You could try soaking the dry food with boiled water until it gets 'mushy' and mix a small amount with the wet food. Gradually replace the mushy with dry and add more and more gradually to the wet until she will eat the dry food on its own.

Also, make sure you give her dry food a good shake occasionally to bring out the smell. Cats will only eat if they can smell the food, and changing to a stronger flavour may help :wink:

Also, just a thought - if she is eating 3 pouches of wet food a day, i would suggest that is probably more than enough food? She might not need biccies on top of the 3 pouches. :wink:

If you were going to try the dry food again, i would suggest cutting back on the wet food and perhaps only giving half a pouch at a time, 2-4 times per day (2 whole pouches max)

It may be that she is just not a biscuit eater, or she may only go for the biscuits if she's really hungry.

My 5 month old, William, is not really a biscuit cat. I keep some down for him to nibble on, but he only ever eats them if he can't find anything else. :lol:

Cats are funny creatures, when William was at his breeders, he ate Whiskas, but wouldn't touch it when he came home with me.. :roll:

Please don't be worried, it just takes a little time to find the right balance for you and for your cat. :wink:

I'm also going to 'big up' 'Orijen' again, as two of our cats who previously turned their noses up at dry, love it :wink:

You can introduce a different food, but gradually mixed with the original; and a teaspoon of live yoghurt which will keep small tummies settled :wink:
