I have bred Bengals for several years now, and have never had a problem finding good homes for my babies.....until now.
I know that times are hard for everyone, but that seems to have brought a new problem. (edit...I know, it's NOT a new problem...it just seems to have grown!
)
I have an older kitten here who is slightly shy, and always has been. I have waited for the right home to come along so she is still here as an 'older' kitten, but I am now needing to find her a new home.
I have had 2 enquiries today. Great! ........or is it?
First they ask...."how much is it? (It??!
!)".
I ask if they are looking for a pet or for something to show or breed. They reply that they want something like my Tino, as a pet, but maybe to breed later. (ALARM BELLS RINGING!). In the background there are kids screaming so loudly I can hardly hear what he is saying, and I explain that she is slightly shy and needs a quiet but experienced cat home to go to. Even though he has never owned a cat, he still wants 'it'. He also asks 'up to how much can I sell kittens for', and 'can I make a profit'? He also made it clear they don't want to show and they don't need their own prefix, as long as they can sell the kittens.....he also hopes for lots of boys to be born because they 'fetch good money'.
OMG...what is this world coming to?
I can only say that 'it' will remain with me until a very good home with experience and understanding comes along.
'It' happens to be a very lovely girl who deserves so much better than that........... and she will get it too.
